Sunescape Spray Tans
Professional Sunescape spray tanning for a natural-looking, even glow, customised to suit your skin tone and the finish you want.
Your Glow, Elevated
At Sibu Skin and Beauty, we use Sunescape professional spray tanning solutions to create a natural-looking, streak-free tan that develops evenly and fades beautifully.
Available at our Nicholls salon, every tan is customised by your therapist to suit your skin tone and the occasion you’re preparing for. Whether you want a subtle sun-kissed glow or a deeper bronzed finish, we’ll help select the right shade for you.
With the right preparation and aftercare, your Sunescape tan can last approximately 7–10 days while fading gradually and evenly.

Contraindications & When We May Need to Postpone Treatment
Please let us know before your appointment if you:
have an active rash, infection, broken skin, sunburn or significant skin irritation in the treatment area
have previously experienced an allergic or adverse reaction to a spray tan or tanning product
have recently undergone a treatment that has left your skin irritated, sensitised or compromised
have any skin condition or sensitivity that may affect your treatment
are unsure whether a medication, skincare product or recent treatment may affect your skin
Your therapist may recommend postponing your spray tan if your skin is not suitable for treatment on the day.
Before Your Tan
For the most even result:
Complete waxing or shaving at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Exfoliate thoroughly the day before, paying particular attention to elbows, knees, ankles and areas prone to dryness.
Avoid exfoliating immediately before your appointment.
Where possible, arrive with clean, product-free skin — without moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or makeup.
Wear or bring loose, dark clothing and slip-on shoes to minimise rubbing while your tan develops.
During your appointment, your therapist will prepare areas such as the elbows, knees, hands and feet as required to help create an even finish.
After Your Tan
Follow the rinse time recommended by your therapist:
Summer in Santorini Ultra Dark: generally around 1 hour
Other shades: generally around 2 hours
For your first rinse, use lukewarm water only and avoid soap, body wash or shampoo over the freshly tanned skin. Gently pat your skin dry rather than rubbing.
Your tan will continue to develop after the initial bronzer has been rinsed away.
Moisturise daily, avoid unnecessary exfoliation and protect your skin from prolonged hot showers, pools, spas and activities that may cause excessive fading.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out anytime. If you’re feeling ready, go ahead and apply.
-
With good preparation and aftercare, a Sunescape spray tan will generally last around 7–10 days. Daily moisturising and gentle showering can help maintain an even result for longer.
-
Rinsing before the development time recommended by your therapist may result in a lighter tan. Follow the rinse instructions provided at your appointment for your chosen shade.
-
Yes. Sunescape is designed to allow an earlier first rinse while the colour continues to develop afterwards. Leaving the bronzer on longer may create a deeper result.
Your therapist can advise you on the best rinse time for the result you want.
-
Minor marks often soften once the guide colour has been rinsed away. Avoid rubbing or trying to aggressively blend the area while the tan is still developing.
If a noticeable mark remains after development, contact us and we can advise you.
-
Creases can occur where skin folds or clothing rubs against the skin. Many soften after the first rinse.
Loose clothing and minimising friction before your first rinse will help reduce the chance of marks developing.
-
Avoid tight clothing, bras, restrictive waistbands and strappy shoes until after your first rinse where possible. Friction can disturb the developing tan and cause marks.
-
Water can mark a developing spray tan. Bring an umbrella and wear loose clothing and covered footwear if rain is expected.
-
Hair removal can temporarily sensitise the skin and affect how tanning solution settles around follicles. Completing it at least 24 hours beforehand allows the skin time to settle before your tan.
-
Exfoliating the day before gives you a smooth surface without leaving the skin freshly sensitised immediately before application.
-
Sunescape offers multiple shades so your therapist can select a colour suited to your skin tone and desired result. The aim is always a natural-looking tan rather than an artificial orange finish.
-
Avoid exercise and activities that cause significant sweating while your tan is developing. For the best result, we recommend avoiding heavy sweating for the first 24 hours where practical.
-
Once the tan has naturally begun to fade, gently exfoliate to remove remaining colour evenly and prepare the skin for your next spray tan.
Avoid aggressive scrubbing while the tan is still looking even.
