Treatment Aftercare
Brows and Lashes Aftercare
Aftercare varies slightly depending on the treatment you receive. Your therapist will provide specific instructions at your appointment.
-
For the first 24–48 hours:
avoid rubbing, scratching or repeatedly touching the treated area
avoid exfoliants, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and other strong active skincare directly over freshly waxed skin
avoid excessive heat, steam, swimming and heavy sweating if the skin feels sensitive
avoid direct sun exposure and solariums
avoid applying fake tan, fragranced products or heavy makeup over freshly waxed skin
keep the area clean and allow any temporary redness or sensitivity to settle naturally
Tint will gradually soften and fade. Longevity varies depending on your skin type, skincare, cleansing, sun exposure and lifestyle.
-
For the first 24 hours:
keep the brows dry
avoid steam, saunas, swimming, excessive heat and heavy sweating
avoid rubbing, scratching or repeatedly touching the brows
avoid applying makeup, fake tan, oils or strong active skincare directly over the brows
avoid exfoliating around the brow area
Hybrid dye stains both the brow hairs and the skin beneath them. The skin stain will fade sooner than the colour on the brow hairs. Longevity varies depending on your skin type, skincare, cleansing, sun exposure and lifestyle.
-
For the first 24 hours:
keep brows dry
avoid steam, saunas, swimming, excessive heat and heavy sweating
avoid applying makeup, fake tan or strong skincare directly over the brows
do not rub, sleep directly on or heavily manipulate the brow hairs
After the initial setting period:
gently brush the brows into shape each day
use the recommended conditioning product to help keep the hairs hydrated and flexible
avoid excessive exfoliation and oil-heavy products directly over the brows, as these may shorten the result
-
For the first 24 hours:
keep lashes dry
avoid steam, saunas, swimming, excessive heat and heavy sweating
avoid rubbing the eyes or sleeping directly on the lashes
avoid mascara, eye makeup and oil-heavy products directly around the lashes
After this period:
cleanse the eye area gently and brush lashes into place as needed
use the recommended conditioning product to help keep lashes hydrated
avoid waterproof mascara and mechanical lash curlers where possible, as these may place unnecessary stress on the lifted lashes
-
To help maintain your extensions:
keep lashes clean using an appropriate oil-free lash cleanser
cleanse after swimming, heavy sweating or exposure to makeup and debris
avoid rubbing, pulling or picking at the extensions
avoid heavy oil-based products directly around the lash line
avoid waterproof mascara and mechanical lash curlers
brush lashes gently with a clean lash wand once they are dry
avoid excessive heat or direct heat close to the lashes
attend regular infill appointments if you wish to maintain consistent fullness
have extensions professionally removed rather than attempting to remove them yourself
Natural lashes continually grow and shed, so gradual extension loss between appointments is normal.
If you develop significant or worsening redness, swelling, pain, blistering, discharge or persistent irritation following any lash or brow treatment, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly. Seek medical advice urgently if you experience marked eye swelling, vision changes, difficulty breathing or other signs of a severe reaction.
Body Sculpting Aftercare
Body Sculpting aftercare varies according to the treatment performed. Follow the instructions for your specific treatment and any individual advice provided by your therapist.
Fat Cavitation Aftercare
Fat Cavitation uses ultrasound energy as part of a non-surgical body-contouring treatment. Temporary warmth, redness or tenderness may occur.
-
You may experience:
mild redness
temporary warmth
slight tenderness
increased awareness of the treated area
temporary changes in urination or thirst
These effects should remain mild and settle progressively.
-
maintain your normal fluid intake unless you have a medical fluid restriction
continue gentle normal movement
avoid excessive alcohol
avoid very hot baths, saunas and steam rooms if the area feels warm
avoid aggressive massage unless recommended
avoid tight clothing if it creates friction or discomfort
follow any movement, exercise or homecare instructions provided by your therapist
You do not need to consume excessive quantities of water. Drink according to your normal needs and any medical advice you have received.
-
Body-contouring results develop progressively and vary between clients. Fat Cavitation is not a weight-loss treatment and does not replace nutrition, exercise or medical weight-management care.
RF Body Tightening Aftercare
RF Body Tightening uses controlled radiofrequency energy to warm targeted tissue and support gradual collagen renewal and firmness.
-
The area may feel:
warm
mildly pink
temporarily tight
slightly swollen
mildly tender
These effects usually settle within several hours.
-
Avoid:
strenuous exercise if the area remains warm or tender
saunas and steam rooms
very hot baths or showers
aggressive massage
tight clothing that rubs the area
applying fragranced or irritating products
additional heat-based treatments
Continue normal gentle movement and use a suitable moisturiser if required.
Brazilian Butt Lift Aftercare
The Sibu Brazilian Butt Lift combines Fat Cavitation followed by RF Body Tightening. Follow the aftercare instructions for both components.
-
maintain normal, consistent hydration
continue gentle movement as comfortable
avoid excessive alcohol for approximately 24–48 hours
avoid strenuous exercise if the area feels warm or tender
avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and excessive heat for approximately 24 hours
avoid aggressive massage unless recommended by your therapist
avoid tight clothing that creates pressure or friction
keep the treated skin clean and comfortable
use a gentle body cleanser and suitable moisturiser
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ if the area will be exposed to sunlight
Temporary redness, warmth, tightness, mild swelling or tenderness may occur and should settle progressively.
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience significant pain, persistent burning, marked swelling, blistering, broken skin, unusual numbness or a reaction that is not settling normally.
Results develop progressively and vary between clients. Your therapist will recommend future treatments according to your goals, treatment area and individual response.
Body Lymphatic Drainage Aftercare
Body Lymphatic Drainage uses gentle mechanical or manual stimulation to support normal lymphatic movement and reduce temporary feelings of puffiness.
-
You may experience:
relaxation
temporary tiredness
increased thirst
more frequent urination
temporary changes in feelings of puffiness
mild awareness of the treated area
Continue your normal fluid intake and gentle daily activity unless you have received different medical advice.
Lymphatic Drainage is not a substitute for medical treatment. New, unexplained or one-sided swelling requires medical assessment.
-
After Body Sculpting, follow your therapist’s advice for the specific treatment performed.
Generally:
gentle normal activity is appropriate
avoid strenuous exercise if the area is tender
avoid excessive heat for approximately 24 hours
avoid activities that create painful friction or pressure
resume normal activity when the area feels comfortable
-
Keep the treated skin clean and comfortable.
Avoid applying active, fragranced or irritating products if the skin feels sensitive. Use a gentle moisturiser if required.
Do not massage bruised, painful or unusually swollen areas unless instructed.
-
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or worsening pain
extensive bruising
persistent heat or burning
marked swelling
blistering
broken skin
numbness or altered sensation that concerns you
a reaction that is not progressively settling
-
Seek prompt medical attention for:
severe or rapidly increasing pain
sudden or one-sided swelling
a hot, red and painful limb
chest pain
difficulty breathing
fainting
signs of infection
another serious or rapidly worsening symptom
-
To support your treatment program:
maintain your usual healthy movement and nutrition habits
attend treatments at the frequency recommended
follow personalised instructions from your therapist
tell your therapist about medication or health changes
allow bruising or tenderness to resolve before further treatment
maintain realistic expectations about gradual and individual results
Ear Piercing Aftercare
A new piercing is a healing wound. Careful hygiene and minimal interference will help reduce irritation and infection risk.
Follow any specific instructions provided for the piercing system and jewellery used at your appointment.
-
Always wash and dry your hands thoroughly before touching the piercing or surrounding skin.
Avoid unnecessary touching.
Do not allow other people to touch the piercing, and avoid contact with unwashed hands, phones, headphones, pets or other potentially contaminated items.
-
Clean the piercing at the frequency recommended by your therapist using the advised aftercare product or sterile saline wound wash.
When cleaning:
Wash and dry your hands.
Apply the recommended aftercare product.
Allow any softened discharge to release gently.
Pat the area dry using clean disposable gauze or paper towel.
Leave the jewellery in place.
Do not aggressively scrub the piercing.
Avoid homemade salt solutions, as incorrect concentrations may irritate the skin.
-
Do not rotate, twist, pull or repeatedly move the jewellery unless you were specifically instructed to do so for the piercing system used.
Do not remove the initial jewellery during healing.
Removing jewellery too early may allow the piercing to close and can make drainage more difficult if infection is present.
If the jewellery feels too tight, becomes embedded or causes significant pressure, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly.
-
Unless medically directed, do not apply:
methylated spirits
rubbing alcohol
hydrogen peroxide
tea tree oil
essential oils
thick ointments
petroleum jelly
makeup
perfume
hairspray
skincare actives
unapproved antiseptic products
These products may irritate healing tissue or interfere with normal healing.
-
Normal showering is generally appropriate.
After showering:
rinse away shampoo and body products
pat the piercing dry
avoid rubbing with a towel
During the initial healing period, avoid:
swimming pools
spas
lakes
rivers
ocean swimming
soaking the piercing in a bath
If water exposure cannot be avoided, seek individual advice about protecting and cleaning the area.
-
Avoid sleeping directly on a new ear piercing.
Pressure can contribute to:
swelling
pain
prolonged irritation
jewellery movement
changes to the piercing angle
Use a clean pillowcase and change it regularly.
Take care with:
headphones
helmets
hats
hairbrushes
towels
phones
clothing pulled over the head
Keep these items clean and avoid pressure or snagging.
-
Protect the piercing from:
shampoo and conditioner residue
hair dye
hairspray
perfume
makeup
facial skincare
fake tan
Rinse the area with clean water if products accidentally contact the piercing, then pat it dry.
Tell hairdressers and other beauty professionals that you have a healing piercing.
-
Do not change or remove the initial jewellery until the piercing is adequately healed.
Healing time varies according to:
the location of the piercing
the piercing method
individual healing
pressure or irritation
health and lifestyle factors
Cartilage piercings generally take substantially longer to heal than earlobe piercings.
Ask Sibu Skin and Beauty before changing jewellery if you are uncertain.
Any recommended jewellery downsizing should be performed by an appropriately trained professional.
-
Irritation may cause:
persistent tenderness
localised redness
a small irritation bump
dryness
discomfort caused by pressure
recurrent crusting
Common aggravating factors include sleeping on the piercing, tight jewellery, snagging and excessive cleaning.
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty so the piercing and jewellery can be assessed.
-
~Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty and seek medical advice if you notice:
increasing redness
spreading redness
increasing heat
worsening pain
marked swelling
thick yellow or green discharge
an unpleasant odour
red streaking
fever or feeling unwell
jewellery becoming embedded
Do not remove the jewellery from a suspected infected piercing unless a medical practitioner directs you to do so.
Cartilage infections require prompt medical assessment.
-
A jewellery sensitivity may cause:
persistent itching
rash
redness
weeping
swelling
irritation extending beyond the piercing
Do not change the jewellery yourself while the piercing is inflamed. Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty for assessment and seek medical advice if the reaction is significant.
-
During healing:
wash your hands before contact
clean the piercing as directed
leave the jewellery in place
avoid twisting or playing with it
minimise pressure and friction
keep phones, headphones and pillowcases clean
avoid swimming and soaking
protect it from beauty and hair products
contact us if healing is not progressing normally
China Doll Laser Facial Aftercare
China Doll Laser Facial is a carbon-assisted laser treatment designed to refine skin texture, improve congestion and pores, and leave the skin looking clearer and brighter.
Downtime is generally minimal, although your skin may be temporarily more sensitive following treatment.
Always follow any personalised instructions provided by your Sibu therapist.
-
Immediately after your China Doll Laser Facial, your skin may appear or feel:
Smoother
Brighter
Fresher
Slightly warm
Mildly red or flushed
Temporarily sensitive
Slightly dry or tight
These responses are generally temporary and should progressively settle.
Visible peeling is not normally expected, although some mild dryness or light flaking may occur depending on your skin and treatment intensity.
-
Following treatment:
Keep your skincare gentle and simple.
Avoid unnecessarily touching or rubbing your skin.
Do not exfoliate.
Avoid introducing new skincare products.
Keep the skin comfortably hydrated.
Protect the treated area from excessive sun exposure.
Follow the skincare recommendations provided by your therapist.
If your skin feels warm or flushed, avoid activities that create additional heat until it settles.
-
Use a gentle cleanser appropriate for your skin.
Cleanse with clean hands.
Use lukewarm rather than hot water.
Avoid facial cleansing brushes and abrasive tools.
Avoid scrubs or exfoliating cloths.
Pat the skin dry rather than rubbing.
If your skin feels sensitive, keep cleansing particularly gentle for the first few days.
-
Your skin may temporarily feel slightly dry or tight following treatment.
Use the hydrating serum and moisturiser recommended by your therapist.
Focus on:
Hydration
Skin comfort
Barrier support
Avoid applying multiple strong active products in an attempt to improve dryness more quickly.
-
Sun protection is important after any laser treatment.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF every morning.
Reapply when required during prolonged daylight exposure.
Minimise direct sun exposure.
Wear a hat and use shade where practical.
Avoid deliberate tanning.
This is especially important if you are prone to pigmentation or uneven skin tone.
-
Temporarily avoid strong or potentially irritating active products while your skin settles.
This may include:
Retinol or retinal
Prescription retinoids
AHAs
BHAs
Exfoliating toners
Home peel products
Scrubs
Enzyme exfoliants
Other strong resurfacing treatments
Your therapist will advise when these products can be resumed.
Do not automatically restart strong active skincare if your skin remains red, dry, warm or sensitive.
-
If your skin feels comfortable and has settled following treatment, makeup can generally be resumed.
If the skin remains noticeably warm, red or sensitive, wait until it feels comfortable.
When applying makeup:
Use clean brushes and sponges.
Avoid heavy rubbing or buffing.
Stop if products cause significant stinging or irritation.
-
If your skin is still warm or flushed, temporarily avoid:
Strenuous exercise
Saunas
Steam rooms
Very hot showers
Heated pools or spas
Activities causing significant heat or sweating
Resume these activities once the skin has settled.
-
If the skin remains red or sensitive, avoid swimming until it feels comfortable.
Chlorinated pools, spas and other environments that may irritate recently treated skin are best avoided during the immediate recovery period.
-
Some clients may notice mild dryness or light flaking.
If this occurs:
Do not pick or peel the skin.
Do not scrub the area.
Do not use exfoliating acids to remove dry skin.
Continue gentle cleansing.
Maintain hydration and moisturising.
Continue daily SPF.
Allow the skin to settle naturally.
-
Keep your routine focused on:
Gentle cleansing
Hydration
Moisturising
Barrier support
Daily broad-spectrum SPF
Avoid unnecessary exfoliation and strong resurfacing products.
Gradually return to your normal skincare once the skin feels completely settled or according to your therapist's instructions.
-
Do not schedule another intensive laser, peel or resurfacing treatment while your skin is still recovering.
Your therapist will advise when it is appropriate to proceed with:
Other laser treatments
IPL
Professional peels
Skin needling
Intensive exfoliation or resurfacing procedures
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if:
Redness becomes worse rather than progressively settling.
You experience persistent burning or significant discomfort.
You develop significant swelling.
You notice blistering, crusting or weeping.
You develop an unexpected skin reaction.
You are concerned about changes in pigmentation.
Your skin response is significantly different from what your therapist advised you to expect.
You are unsure which skincare products are suitable following treatment.
For severe swelling, difficulty breathing or any reaction requiring urgent medical attention, seek appropriate medical care immediately.
-
China Doll may be performed as:
An occasional skin-refresh treatment
Part of a programme for congestion
Part of a treatment plan for enlarged pores and texture
Part of ongoing professional skin maintenance
Your therapist will recommend the appropriate treatment interval based on:
Your skin condition
Your primary concern
Your treatment response
Your home skincare
Other professional treatments in your skin plan
-
To help maintain your results:
Use broad-spectrum SPF every day.
Maintain appropriate hydration.
Follow your recommended home skincare.
Avoid unnecessary over-exfoliation.
Follow the treatment schedule recommended by your therapist.
-
These instructions provide general aftercare following China Doll Laser Facial at Sibu Skin and Beauty.
Your individual aftercare may vary according to your skin, treatment intensity, medical history and any other professional treatments performed.
Always follow the personalised instructions provided by your Sibu therapist.
Dermaplaning Aftercare
Dermaplaning removes surface dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, leaving the skin smoother and more refined. Because the outermost surface of the skin has been freshly exfoliated, it may be temporarily more sensitive to active skincare, friction, heat and sun exposure.
Following the aftercare below will help support your skin while it settles.
-
Your skin may feel:
smoother and softer
slightly warm
mildly tight or sensitive
temporarily pink or flushed
These effects are usually short-lived. Avoid rubbing, scratching or picking at the skin, even if it feels slightly dry or textured as it settles.
-
Keep your skincare simple and gentle.
Avoid:
exfoliating products
scrubs or cleansing brushes
retinoids or retinol
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
strong vitamin C or other potentially irritating active products
benzoyl peroxide
prescription topical actives unless specifically advised
excessive touching or rubbing of the skin
Use:
a gentle cleanser
soothing or hydrating products recommended by your therapist
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
-
For approximately 24 hours, avoid activities that may unnecessarily irritate freshly exfoliated skin, including:
strenuous exercise that causes significant sweating
saunas and steam rooms
very hot showers directly over the treated area
swimming pools, spas and chlorinated water
Normal gentle showering is fine.
-
Where possible, allow the skin to remain clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
If makeup is necessary, use clean applicators and avoid heavily fragranced or potentially irritating products.
Your makeup may sit particularly smoothly after Dermaplaning, but your skin should still be allowed time to settle following treatment.
-
Freshly exfoliated skin can be more vulnerable to UV exposure.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day and take sensible additional precautions, including:
avoiding prolonged direct sun exposure
wearing a hat when outdoors
seeking shade where possible
reapplying sunscreen appropriately
Do not deliberately tan the treated area.
-
Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, benzoyl peroxide and other potentially irritating active products for approximately 3–5 days.
Once your skin feels completely settled, gradually return to your usual active skincare.
Do not restart an active product simply because a set amount of time has passed if your skin still feels:
irritated
tight
unusually dry
sensitive
hot or uncomfortable
Avoid waxing, threading, facial peels, laser, IPL and other intensive facial treatments over the treated area for at least 5–7 days, or for the period recommended by your therapist.
If your therapist has provided specific instructions for your products or future treatments, follow those recommendations instead.
-
Temporary effects can include:
mild redness
slight sensitivity
tightness
dryness
increased awareness of the skin
mild temporary flaking in some clients
The skin may also look brighter and feel noticeably smoother immediately following treatment.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
persistent heat or burning
swelling
blistering
crusting
increasing pain
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
-
Dermaplaning may sometimes be incorporated into a broader professional treatment.
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed, as these may be more restrictive than Dermaplaning aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if this applies.
-
To help maintain your results:
keep the skin well hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid excessive or unnecessary exfoliation at home
follow your recommended skincare routine
book future Dermaplaning according to your skin, hair growth and treatment plan rather than following an automatic schedule
If you are unsure when to restart a product or whether a reaction is normal, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty before applying anything that may further irritate your skin.
Electrolysis Aftercare
Electrolysis treats individual hair follicles using a very fine probe and controlled electrical energy. Temporary redness, warmth or small raised bumps can occur after treatment as the skin begins its normal healing response.
Following the aftercare below will help keep the area clean, reduce unnecessary irritation and support healthy healing.
-
The treated area may appear or feel:
pink or red
slightly warm or tender
mildly swollen
temporarily itchy
covered with small raised bumps around the treated follicles
These effects usually begin settling within several hours, although some areas and more sensitive skin may take longer.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or pressing the treated area.
-
Keep the area clean and allow it to settle.
Avoid:
touching the area with unwashed hands
rubbing, scratching or picking
makeup directly over the treated area
fragranced products
deodorant on treated underarms
strong or potentially irritating skincare
heavy, oily or occlusive products unless recommended by your therapist
applying Vaseline or similar petroleum-based barriers
shaving directly over skin that remains irritated
tight clothing or friction over treated body areas
Use only gentle skincare and any soothing aftercare product recommended by your therapist. Electrolysis aftercare products are intended to calm the skin and reduce the risk of bacteria entering recently treated follicles.
-
For approximately 24–48 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
very hot showers or baths
swimming pools, spas and chlorinated water
activities that create excessive heat or friction over the treated area
Normal gentle showering is fine. Pat the area dry using a clean towel rather than rubbing it.
-
For approximately 48–72 hours, avoid applying the following directly over the treated area:
retinoids or retinol
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs or cleansing brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
prescription topical actives unless specifically advised
other products that cause stinging, heat or irritation
Once the area has completely settled, gradually return to your usual skincare.
Do not restart active products while the skin remains red, tender, dry, crusted or irritated, even if the suggested waiting period has passed.
-
Where possible, leave the area clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
If makeup must be worn after the initial settling period:
wait until redness and heat have reduced
use clean hands, brushes or applicators
avoid heavily fragranced or irritating products
remove makeup gently without rubbing
Do not apply makeup over broken, weeping or crusted skin.
-
Recently treated skin can be more vulnerable to irritation and changes in pigmentation following sun exposure.
To protect the area:
avoid deliberate tanning and prolonged direct sun exposure
apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ once the skin can comfortably tolerate it
wear protective clothing or a hat where appropriate
reapply sunscreen as directed when outdoors
Continue careful sun protection throughout your electrolysis treatment program.
-
Tiny crusts or pinpoint scabs may occasionally form as part of the healing process, particularly after treatment on the body.
Do not:
scratch them
pick them
exfoliate them
attempt to remove them
Allow them to release naturally. Picking can delay healing and increase the risk of infection, scarring or temporary changes in skin colour. Sterex specifically advises that electrolysis scabs should not be picked because doing so can interfere with healing and contribute to pigmentation changes.
-
Temporary reactions may include:
redness
mild warmth or tenderness
slight swelling
small raised bumps around treated follicles
mild itching as the skin settles
pinpoint crusting or tiny scabs
temporary dryness
bruising
The severity and duration of these reactions can vary depending on the treatment area, skin sensitivity, hair density and length of the appointment.
-
Electrolysis requires hairs to be present and visible enough for your therapist to treat them accurately.
Between appointments:
do not tweeze, wax, thread or epilate hairs in the treatment area
trim or shave hairs if necessary, provided the skin has completely settled
stop shaving or trimming with enough time for the hairs to be visible at your next appointment
follow the appointment timing recommended by your therapist
Removing hairs from the root between treatments can disrupt the electrolysis treatment process. Sterex recommends shaving when temporary hair removal is necessary rather than tweezing, waxing or threading.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
redness, swelling or discomfort that is significant or worsening
persistent heat or burning
blistering
weeping or discharge
increasing pain
widespread or persistent crusting
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Seek medical advice promptly if you develop rapidly increasing swelling, severe pain, spreading redness, pus, fever or another significant reaction.
-
To support your skin and electrolysis treatment program:
keep the treated area clean
follow the skincare recommendations provided by your therapist
protect the area from sun exposure
avoid picking or interfering with healing skin
do not remove hairs from the root between appointments
attend treatments according to your recommended schedule
Electrolysis works progressively because individual hairs grow at different times and must be treated during repeated appointments. Your therapist will recommend suitable appointment timing based on the area, hair growth and your skin’s response.
HIFU Aftercare
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) delivers focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin to support gradual collagen renewal and skin tightening.
The skin’s surface is usually intact following treatment and most clients can return to normal daily activities immediately. However, temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or altered sensation may occur while the treated tissue settles.
-
The treated area may appear or feel:
mildly pink or flushed
warm or sensitive
slightly swollen
tender when touched
tight or firm
mildly tingling
temporarily numb or less sensitive
tender along the jawline or other bony areas
These effects are generally temporary. Tenderness may be more noticeable when touching the area, washing the face or making certain facial expressions.
Redness and swelling commonly settle within several hours to a few days. Tenderness, tingling or altered sensation beneath the skin can take longer to resolve.
Redness, swelling, pain and temporary nerve-related effects are recognised possible reactions following focused ultrasound treatments.
-
Treat the area gently.
Avoid:
rubbing, pressing or repeatedly touching the treated area
facial massage or massage devices
very hot water directly over the area
products that sting, heat or irritate the skin
excessive heat, steam and heavy sweating
alcohol if it worsens flushing or swelling
Use:
a gentle cleanser
lukewarm water
a suitable moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
any skincare specifically recommended by your therapist
Do not apply ice or extreme cold directly to the skin unless your therapist has specifically advised you to do so.
-
Most normal activities can be resumed immediately, but for approximately 24 hours avoid:
strenuous exercise that causes significant heat and sweating
saunas and steam rooms
very hot showers or baths
spas
swimming if the skin remains irritated or sensitive
Normal gentle showering is fine.
If redness, swelling or tenderness continues, wait until the area feels comfortable before returning to activities that create significant heat or friction.
-
Makeup may generally be applied after treatment if the skin’s surface is intact and feels comfortable.
If the skin is red, warm or sensitive:
allow it to settle before applying makeup
use clean hands, brushes and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
remove makeup carefully without rubbing
Do not apply makeup over blistered, broken or unusually irritated skin.
-
HIFU does not usually require an extended break from normal skincare. However, if the skin feels sensitive, avoid potentially irritating products for approximately 24–48 hours, including:
retinoids or retinol
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs or cleansing brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other products that cause stinging, heat or irritation
Once the skin feels settled, gradually return to your usual routine.
Do not restart active products simply because a set amount of time has passed if the skin still feels hot, irritated or unusually sensitive.
-
Use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day following treatment.
Also take sensible precautions by:
avoiding prolonged direct sun exposure
wearing a hat when outdoors
seeking shade where possible
reapplying sunscreen appropriately
Do not deliberately tan the treated area.
-
Allow the treated tissue time to settle before having other intensive treatments over the same area.
Unless your therapist or medical practitioner advises otherwise, avoid the following for approximately one to two weeks:
facial massage or vigorous manipulation
gua sha or other massage tools
radiofrequency treatments
additional HIFU treatments
microneedling
skin resurfacing treatments
chemical peels
laser or IPL
other heat-based or intensive facial procedures
If you are planning cosmetic injectables, dental procedures or another medical or aesthetic treatment near the treated area, check the appropriate timing with both your HIFU therapist and the relevant treating practitioner.
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness
slight swelling or puffiness
tenderness when touching the area
a bruised feeling beneath the skin
tightness or firmness
tingling
small areas of temporary numbness or altered sensation
mild bruising
sensitivity around the jawline, forehead or other bony areas
a mild headache following treatment around the forehead
Bruising may occasionally become visible several days after treatment rather than immediately.
Tenderness or altered sensation beneath the skin may last longer than surface redness. It should gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or worsening redness or swelling
persistent or increasing pain
blistering, burns, crusting or broken skin
marked or worsening numbness
persistent tingling that concerns you
facial weakness, asymmetry or difficulty making normal facial movements
unusual lumps, welts or prolonged swelling
changes to your vision
signs of infection
any reaction that is severe, unexpected or not progressively settling
Seek urgent medical attention for severe pain, significant facial weakness, visual changes, breathing difficulties or another serious reaction.
-
Some clients may notice an early feeling of firmness following treatment, but HIFU results develop gradually as the body responds and collagen renewal occurs.
Changes should not be judged only by how the skin looks immediately after treatment. Improvement may continue to develop over the following weeks and months.
Results vary according to:
age and skin condition
the degree of skin laxity
the treatment area
the treatment plan used
individual collagen response
lifestyle and ongoing skin health
Follow-up photographs and review appointments are the most reliable way to assess gradual change.
-
Do not stop prescribed medication or avoid medically necessary pain relief unless instructed by the practitioner who prescribed or recommended it.
If you need pain relief after treatment or are unsure whether a medication is suitable for you, ask your pharmacist, medical practitioner or treating therapist for individual advice.
-
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed, as these may be more restrictive than HIFU aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if additional precautions apply.
-
To support your skin following HIFU:
maintain a gentle and consistent skincare routine
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid unnecessary irritation or aggressive treatment of the area
follow the treatment plan recommended by your therapist
attend any recommended review appointment
contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you are unsure whether your recovery is progressing normally
Most clients can resume normal activities immediately following focused ultrasound treatment, provided they follow their practitioner’s individual instructions.
HydraFacial Aftercare
HydraFacial is designed to leave the skin deeply cleansed, exfoliated and hydrated with minimal downtime. Your skin may look brighter and feel smoother immediately after treatment.
Some temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, tightness or mild tenderness can occur, particularly if your treatment included extractions, a more active booster or additional treatment components.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
smoother and more hydrated
brighter or more radiant
mildly pink or flushed
slightly warm
temporarily tight or sensitive
mildly tender where congestion was extracted
These effects should generally settle quickly.
Avoid repeatedly touching, rubbing, scratching or picking at the treated skin.
-
Keep the skin clean, hydrated and protected.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching or rubbing
picking at congestion or minor dryness
scrubs, cleansing brushes or exfoliating tools
waxing, depilatory creams or other irritating hair-removal treatments
strenuous exercise if the skin feels warm or sensitive
saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat
very hot showers directly over the treated area
swimming pools, spas and heavily chlorinated water if the skin feels sensitised
fragranced or potentially irritating products
introducing unfamiliar skincare products
Use:
a gentle cleanser
suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
any products specifically recommended by your therapist
-
For approximately 24–48 hours, or until your skin feels completely comfortable, avoid strong or potentially irritating active products, including:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs or physical exfoliants
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other strong resurfacing or highly active products
Some clients may need to avoid active skincare for longer, particularly if the skin is reactive or a more active booster or treatment component was used.
Do not restart active products simply because a set amount of time has passed if your skin remains red, tight, dry, warm or sensitive.
Your therapist may recommend a different timeframe according to your skin and the HydraFacial treatment components used.
-
Cleanse gently using lukewarm water.
Avoid:
aggressive cleansing
hot water
cleansing brushes or devices
rubbing the skin with towels or face cloths
repeatedly cleansing in an attempt to remove oil or congestion
Pat the skin dry with a clean towel and continue using suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products.
Do not over-exfoliate in an attempt to extend the smooth feeling after your treatment.
-
If your skin feels comfortable, normal daily activities can generally be resumed.
For approximately 24 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise that causes significant heat and sweating
saunas and steam rooms
very hot showers or baths
spas
swimming if the skin remains irritated or sensitive
Normal gentle showering is fine.
If redness, warmth or sensitivity continues, wait until the skin feels settled before returning to activities that create significant heat or friction.
-
Freshly exfoliated skin can be more vulnerable to UV exposure.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day and take sensible additional precautions, including:
avoiding prolonged direct sun exposure
wearing a hat when outdoors
seeking shade where possible
reapplying sunscreen appropriately
Do not deliberately tan the treated area.
-
What Is Normal After HydraFacial?
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness or pinkness
warmth
slight tightness
mild sensitivity
temporary tenderness where congestion was extracted
minor dryness or flaking as the skin settles
increased awareness of congestion already developing beneath the surface
Occasionally, existing congestion may become more noticeable following treatment. Avoid squeezing or picking the area.
These effects should generally improve quickly rather than progressively worsen.

-
Deluxe and Platinum HydraFacial treatments include a personalised booster.
Aftercare may vary depending on the booster selected, particularly when more active ingredients have been used.
Follow any additional instructions given by your therapist and avoid adding further strong active products unless advised.
HydraFacial treatments can be customised using different boosters and enhancements according to the client’s skin concerns and goals.
-
No additional recovery is normally required following LED Light Therapy.
Continue with:
gentle skincare
appropriate hydration
daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+
any additional instructions provided for the other components of your treatment
If your HydraFacial was combined with another treatment that requires more restrictive aftercare, follow the instructions for the most intensive treatment performed.
-
Lymphatic drainage generally requires no specific skin aftercare.
Maintaining normal hydration following treatment is appropriate unless you have been given different advice for a medical reason.
Temporary facial flushing or increased urination may occasionally occur following lymphatic treatment and should settle naturally.
-
Do not perform waxing, use depilatory creams or undertake another potentially irritating hair-removal treatment over the treated area while the skin remains sensitive.
Avoid scheduling another peel, resurfacing treatment, laser, IPL, skin needling or other intensive treatment immediately after HydraFacial.
The appropriate interval depends on:
the treatment being planned
your skin condition
the HydraFacial components and booster used
the intensity of the planned treatment
how your skin responds after HydraFacial
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing as part of your treatment plan.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
persistent or increasing redness
significant swelling
blistering
persistent heat or burning
marked pain
a significant rash
worsening irritation
weeping, discharge or other signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Seek urgent medical care if you develop difficulty breathing, marked facial swelling or other symptoms suggesting a severe allergic reaction or medical emergency.
-
To help maintain your results:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin well hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid unnecessary or excessive exfoliation
avoid squeezing or picking congestion
attend professional treatments at the frequency recommended for your skin
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medications or health before your next appointment
Your therapist will recommend ongoing HydraFacial treatments according to your skin condition, concerns and overall treatment plan rather than using one fixed schedule for everyone.
Hydrodermabrasion Aftercare
Hydrodermabrasion combines controlled exfoliation, suction and hydrating solutions to remove surface build-up, support clearer-looking pores and leave the skin feeling smoother and refreshed.
Because the skin has been freshly exfoliated, it may temporarily be more sensitive to active skincare, friction, heat and sun exposure.
Following the aftercare below will help protect your skin while it settles.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
smoother and softer
refreshed and hydrated
slightly pink or flushed
mildly warm
temporarily tight or sensitive
mildly tender around areas of congestion or extraction
These effects are generally temporary and should begin settling within several hours.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching, squeezing or picking at the treated skin.
-
Keep your skincare simple, gentle and hydrating.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching or rubbing
picking or squeezing congestion
exfoliating products
scrubs or cleansing brushes
fragranced or potentially irritating products
waxing or depilatory creams
introducing unfamiliar skincare products
excessive heat and heavy sweating
deliberate sun exposure
Use:
a gentle cleanser
suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
any skincare specifically recommended by your therapist
-
Cleanse gently using lukewarm water.
Avoid:
hot water
aggressive or repeated cleansing
cleansing brushes or exfoliating cloths
rubbing the skin with towels
heavily fragranced cleansers
products that sting or create heat
Pat the skin dry using a clean towel.
Continue using suitable moisturising and barrier-supportive products to maintain hydration and comfort.
Do not over-exfoliate in an attempt to extend the smooth feeling after your treatment.
-
For approximately 48–72 hours, or until your skin feels completely settled, avoid strong or potentially irritating active products, including:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs or physical exfoliants
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other strong resurfacing or highly active products
More sensitive skin may need longer before returning to active skincare.
Do not restart active products simply because a set amount of time has passed if your skin remains red, tight, dry, warm or sensitive.
Your therapist may recommend a different timeframe according to your skin and the products or treatment components used.
-
For approximately 24 hours, avoid activities that may unnecessarily irritate freshly exfoliated skin, including:
strenuous exercise that causes significant sweating
saunas and steam rooms
very hot showers or baths
spas
swimming pools and heavily chlorinated water
Normal gentle showering is fine.
If redness, warmth or sensitivity continues, wait until the skin feels comfortable before returning to activities that create significant heat or friction.
-
Where possible, allow the skin to remain clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
If makeup is necessary:
wait until redness or warmth has reduced
use clean hands, brushes, sponges and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
remove makeup carefully without scrubbing
Do not apply makeup over broken, weeping or unusually irritated skin.
-
Freshly exfoliated skin can be more vulnerable to UV exposure.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day and take sensible additional precautions, including:
avoiding prolonged direct sun exposure
wearing a hat when outdoors
seeking shade where possible
reapplying sunscreen appropriately
Do not deliberately tan the treated area.
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness or pinkness
slight warmth
temporary tightness
mild sensitivity
minor dryness or flaking
temporary tenderness around extracted congestion
increased awareness of congestion already developing beneath the skin
small areas of temporary redness caused by suction
Occasionally, existing congestion may become more noticeable after treatment as the skin settles.
Avoid squeezing, scratching or picking the area. These effects should improve rather than progressively worsen.
-
Avoid waxing, threading and depilatory creams over the treated area for approximately 5–7 days, or until the skin has completely settled.
Do not schedule another intensive facial treatment immediately after Hydrodermabrasion.
This includes:
chemical peels
skin needling
laser or IPL
intensive resurfacing treatments
aggressive exfoliation
other treatments that create significant heat or irritation
The appropriate interval depends on:
your skin condition
the intensity of your Hydrodermabrasion treatment
any additional products or treatment components used
the treatment being planned
how your skin responds afterwards
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing as part of your treatment plan.
-
Hydrodermabrasion may be incorporated into a broader professional facial or combined with an enhancement.
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed, as these may be more restrictive than Hydrodermabrasion aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if additional precautions apply.
-
Lymphatic drainage generally requires no specific skin aftercare.
Maintaining normal hydration following treatment is appropriate unless you have been given different advice for a medical reason.
Temporary facial flushing or increased urination may occasionally occur following lymphatic treatment and should settle naturally.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
persistent heat or burning
significant swelling
blistering
marked or increasing pain
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual bruising
weeping, discharge or other signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Seek urgent medical care if you develop marked facial swelling, difficulty breathing or other symptoms suggesting a severe allergic reaction or medical emergency.
-
To help maintain your results:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin well hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid excessive or unnecessary exfoliation
avoid squeezing or picking congestion
attend professional treatments at the frequency recommended for your skin
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medications or health before your next appointment
Your therapist will recommend future Hydrodermabrasion treatments according to your skin condition, concerns and overall treatment plan rather than using one fixed schedule for everyone.
IPL Hair Removal Aftercare
IPL Hair Removal uses controlled pulses of light to target pigment within the hair follicle and progressively reduce unwanted hair growth.
The treated area may temporarily feel warm or sensitive. Following the aftercare below will help protect the skin, reduce unnecessary irritation and support safe healing between appointments.
-
The treated area may appear or feel:
pink or red
warm or mildly sunburnt
slightly tender or sensitive
mildly itchy
swollen around individual hair follicles
covered with small raised bumps around treated hairs
Redness and follicular swelling are common temporary responses and usually begin settling within several hours. Sensitive areas may take longer.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking at the treated skin.
-
If the area feels warm or uncomfortable, apply a clean, cool compress for short periods.
Do not:
apply ice directly to the skin
use frozen packs without wrapping them
apply excessive pressure
use heavily fragranced or irritating soothing products
Use only gentle products or post-treatment skincare recommended by your therapist.
-
Keep the treated area clean, cool and protected.
Avoid:
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot baths and very hot showers
spas, swimming pools and heavily chlorinated water
direct heat over the treated area
tight clothing that rubs against the skin
scratching, rubbing or picking
fragranced body products
deodorant if the underarms were treated and remain sensitive
makeup over facial areas that remain warm or irritated
sexual activity if it creates heat or friction over a recently treated intimate area
Normal gentle showering is fine. Use lukewarm water and pat the area dry using a clean towel.
-
Until the area feels completely settled, use:
a gentle cleanser or body wash
a suitable moisturiser
soothing products recommended by your therapist
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ on exposed areas
Avoid potentially irritating products over the treated area for approximately 3–5 days, including:
retinoids or retinol
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
scrubs
exfoliating gloves or brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
prescription topical actives unless specifically advised
fragranced or alcohol-heavy products
Do not restart active products if the skin remains red, warm, dry, itchy or sensitive.
-
IPL-treated skin must be protected from UV exposure.
After treatment:
avoid deliberate tanning
avoid prolonged direct sun exposure
apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ to exposed treated areas
wear protective clothing where appropriate
reapply sunscreen when outdoors
do not use solariums
Avoid fake tan over the treated area until the skin has completely settled, generally for at least one week.
Sun exposure and tanning can increase the risk of burns and changes in pigmentation. Tell your therapist before your next appointment if the treatment area has become tanned or has had significant sun exposure.
-
Makeup may be applied once the treated skin feels cool, comfortable and intact.
Use clean hands, brushes and applicators and remove makeup gently.
If the underarms were treated, wait until the skin has settled before applying deodorant.
If the bikini or body area was treated, avoid fragranced lotions, body sprays and products that sting or irritate the skin.
Do not apply products over blistered, broken or unusually irritated skin unless specifically advised.
-
Treated hairs do not always disappear immediately.
Over approximately one to three weeks, treated hairs may:
appear to continue growing
become loose
work their way out of the follicles
shed during gentle cleansing or showering
This is expected and does not mean that the treatment has failed.
Do not pull, scratch or aggressively exfoliate the hairs to make them shed faster. Allow them to release naturally.
-
Between IPL appointments:
do not wax
do not tweeze
do not thread
do not epilate
do not use any method that removes the hair from the root
Removing hair from the root leaves less of the target available for the next IPL treatment.
You may shave or carefully trim the hair once the skin has completely settled.
Follow your therapist’s instructions about when to shave before your next appointment.
-
Temporary effects may include:
redness
warmth
mild tenderness
slight itching
swelling around treated follicles
small raised follicular bumps
temporary dryness
darkening of some treated hairs before they shed
These effects should gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Blistering, burns and crusting are not expected normal treatment responses.
Do not:
pop blisters
scratch or remove crusts
apply adhesive dressings directly over affected skin
exfoliate the area
apply active or fragranced products
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly for assessment and further instructions.
Changes in skin colour may occasionally develop following light-based treatment, particularly after sun exposure, tanning or skin irritation. Contact us if you notice unusual darkening or lightening of the treated skin.
-
Do not have another potentially irritating treatment over the same area until the skin has completely settled.
This includes:
waxing
chemical peels
skin needling
laser or additional IPL
intensive exfoliation
heat-based treatments
other treatments that may irritate the skin
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing according to the area treated, your skin response and the treatment being planned.
-
Before your next IPL appointment, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
use a new topical prescription
develop a medical condition
experience unusual sensitivity to light
become pregnant
have recent sun exposure or tanning
develop a rash, infection, wound or skin irritation in the treatment area
Some medications and health changes can affect suitability for IPL. Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
increasing pain
persistent heat or burning
marked swelling
blistering
crusting
broken or weeping skin
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
signs of infection
any reaction that concerns you or is not progressively settling
Seek urgent medical attention for severe pain, extensive blistering, rapidly increasing swelling, breathing difficulties or another serious reaction.
-
IPL Hair Removal works progressively because hairs grow through different stages and not every follicle can be effectively targeted during one appointment.
To support your treatment program:
attend appointments at the interval recommended by your therapist
avoid removing hairs from the root
shave or trim only as advised
protect the treated area from sun exposure
avoid fake tanning before appointments
tell your therapist about medication, health and skin changes
follow any personalised instructions provided at your appointment
Results and the number of treatments required vary according to the area, hair colour and thickness, skin type, hormonal influences and individual response. Maintenance treatments may be required over time.
IPL Skin Rejuvenation Aftercare
IPL Skin Rejuvenation uses controlled pulses of light to target selected pigmentation, visible redness and other signs of sun damage.
The skin’s response will vary depending on the concern treated, the settings used and your individual skin response. Following the aftercare below will help protect the treated skin and support normal healing.
-
The treated area may appear or feel:
pink or red
warm or mildly sunburnt
slightly swollen
tender or sensitive
mildly itchy
tight or dry
Pigmented areas may begin to look darker, while areas treated for redness or visible vessels may temporarily appear more noticeable.
These responses are generally expected and should begin settling progressively.
Do not rub, scratch, pick or apply pressure to the treated skin.
-
If the area feels warm or uncomfortable, apply a clean, cool compress for short periods.
Do not:
apply ice directly to the skin
use frozen packs without wrapping them
apply excessive pressure
use fragranced or irritating soothing products
Use only gentle products or post-treatment skincare recommended by your therapist.
-
Keep the treated skin clean, cool and protected.
Avoid:
rubbing, scratching or picking
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot baths and very hot showers
spas, swimming pools and heavily chlorinated water
direct heat over the treated area
tight clothing or friction over treated body areas
fragranced products
makeup while the skin remains hot, swollen or irritated
products that sting or create heat
introducing unfamiliar skincare products
Normal gentle showering is fine. Use lukewarm water and pat the skin dry using a clean towel.
-
Cleanse gently using lukewarm water.
Avoid:
hot water
aggressive or repeated cleansing
cleansing brushes or exfoliating cloths
scrubbing the skin
heavily fragranced cleansers
products that cause stinging or irritation
Pat the skin dry rather than rubbing it.
Use a suitable gentle moisturiser and any soothing or barrier-supportive products recommended by your therapist.
-
Avoid strong or potentially irritating active products for approximately 5–7 days, or until the skin has completely settled.
This includes:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs or physical exfoliants
cleansing brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other resurfacing or highly active products
Do not restart active skincare while the treated area remains red, warm, swollen, dry, crusted, flaky or sensitive.
Your therapist may recommend a longer break depending on your skin response and the intensity of treatment.
-
Strict sun protection is essential following IPL Skin Rejuvenation.
After treatment:
avoid deliberate tanning
avoid prolonged direct sun exposure
apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
wear a hat and protective clothing where appropriate
seek shade whenever possible
reapply sunscreen appropriately when outdoors
do not use solariums
Continue careful sun protection throughout your IPL treatment program.
Sun exposure and tanning can increase the risk of burns, prolonged irritation and unwanted changes in pigmentation.
-
Do not apply fake tan to the treated area until:
all redness and sensitivity have resolved
any darkened pigmentation or crusting has released naturally
the skin’s surface is completely intact
your therapist has advised that it is safe to do so
Before your next appointment, the treatment area must be free from fake tan.
Tell your therapist if you have used fake tan or experienced significant sun exposure before your next treatment.
-
Where possible, allow the skin to remain clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
Makeup may be applied once the area feels cool, comfortable and intact.
If applying makeup:
use clean hands, brushes, sponges and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
avoid rubbing or pressing heavily
remove makeup carefully without scrubbing
Do not apply makeup over blistered, broken, weeping or crusted skin.
-
Pigmented spots commonly become darker following IPL. They may appear:
deeper brown
grey-brown
speckled
similar to fine coffee grounds on the skin’s surface
This is an expected part of the treatment response.
The darkened pigmentation may remain visible for several days before gradually becoming drier and releasing naturally. Facial areas often settle sooner than body areas.
Do not:
scratch or pick the darkened areas
scrub or exfoliate them
use peels or active products to make them lift faster
pull away dry or crusted skin
Allow the pigmentation to shed naturally. Picking can increase the risk of delayed healing, infection, scarring or changes in skin colour.
-
Areas treated for redness or visible vessels may temporarily appear:
redder
darker
slightly purple
swollen
more noticeable than before treatment
Some vessels may fade gradually rather than disappearing immediately.
Do not judge the final result while the skin is still healing. Your therapist will advise when the area is ready to be reviewed.
-
Temporary effects may include:
redness
warmth
mild swelling
tenderness
tightness or dryness
mild itching
temporary darkening of pigmentation
increased visibility of treated vessels
mild bruising or purplish discolouration
fine flaking or crusting
a speckled or coffee-ground appearance over treated pigmentation
These responses should gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Blistering, burns, open skin and significant crusting are not expected normal treatment responses.
If these occur:
do not pop blisters
do not scratch or remove crusts
do not exfoliate
do not apply active or fragranced products
keep the area protected from sun exposure
contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly
Your therapist may ask you to provide clear photographs or attend the salon so the reaction can be assessed.
-
Avoid waxing, threading and depilatory creams over the treated area for approximately 7 days, or until the skin has completely healed.
Do not schedule another intensive treatment over the same area while the skin is healing.
This includes:
chemical peels
skin needling
laser or additional IPL
radiofrequency
HIFU
intensive exfoliation
other heat-based or resurfacing treatments
The appropriate interval depends on:
the treatment performed
your skin response
the area treated
the intensity of the planned treatment
your overall treatment program
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing.
-
Before your next IPL appointment, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
use a new topical prescription
develop a medical condition
experience unusual sensitivity to light
become pregnant
have significant sun exposure or develop a tan
use fake tan
develop a rash, infection, wound or skin irritation in the treatment area
Some medications and health changes can affect your suitability for IPL.
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
increasing pain
persistent heat or burning
marked or worsening swelling
blistering
broken or weeping skin
extensive or unexpected crusting
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
signs of infection
any reaction that concerns you or is not progressively settling
Seek urgent medical attention for severe pain, extensive blistering, rapidly increasing swelling, breathing difficulties, visual changes or another serious reaction.
-
IPL Skin Rejuvenation results develop as treated pigmentation and redness gradually respond and the skin completes its healing process.
Do not judge your final result immediately after treatment.
Depending on the concern being treated:
pigmentation may initially darken before fading
redness or vessels may initially look more noticeable
some concerns may improve gradually
a series of treatments may be recommended
maintenance treatments may be appropriate over time
Results vary according to your skin, concern, treatment area, sun exposure, lifestyle and individual response.
-
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed, as these may be more restrictive than IPL Skin Rejuvenation aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if additional precautions apply.
-
To help maintain your results:
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
minimise unnecessary sun exposure
avoid deliberate tanning
follow your recommended homecare routine
do not pick or exfoliate healing pigmentation
attend review and treatment appointments as recommended
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medications or health
follow any personalised instructions provided at your appointment
If you are unsure whether a reaction is normal or when to restart a product, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty before applying anything that may further irritate the treated skin.
LED Light Therapy Aftercare
LED Light Therapy uses specific wavelengths of visible and near-infrared light to support the skin without removing or breaking its surface.
LED is non-invasive and does not usually require downtime. Most clients can return to normal skincare, makeup and daily activities immediately after treatment.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
calm and comfortable
slightly warm
mildly pink or flushed
temporarily dry or tight
refreshed or more hydrated, depending on the products applied
Any mild warmth or redness should generally settle quickly.
Avoid unnecessary rubbing, scratching or picking at the skin.
-
No special restrictions are usually required after LED Light Therapy alone.
Continue with:
gentle cleansing
suitable moisturising and hydrating products
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
your therapist’s recommended skincare routine
If your skin feels temporarily warm or sensitive, avoid:
very hot showers directly over the treated area
saunas and steam rooms
strenuous exercise that causes significant heat
strong or potentially irritating skincare
products that sting or create heat
Resume these activities once your skin feels completely comfortable.
-
The skin can generally be cleansed normally after LED Light Therapy.
Use:
a suitable cleanser
lukewarm water
an appropriate moisturiser
any products recommended by your therapist
If the skin feels sensitive, avoid aggressive cleansing, scrubbing or cleansing tools until it has settled.
-
LED Light Therapy alone does not usually require you to stop your normal active skincare.
However, temporarily avoid active products if:
your skin feels irritated or unusually sensitive
the LED treatment followed another treatment that disrupted or exfoliated the skin
your therapist has provided specific product instructions
an active product causes stinging, heat or discomfort when applied
Potentially irritating products may include:
retinoids or retinol
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids or enzymes
scrubs
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
prescription topical actives
If LED was combined with another treatment, follow the active-skincare restrictions for the most intensive treatment performed.
-
Makeup can generally be applied immediately after standalone LED Light Therapy if the skin feels comfortable.
Use:
clean hands
clean brushes, sponges and applicators
products appropriate for your skin
If LED followed another facial or advanced treatment, follow the makeup instructions for that treatment instead.
-
Standalone LED Light Therapy does not usually require restrictions on exercise, heat, showering or swimming.
If the skin feels temporarily warm or flushed, allow it to settle before undertaking:
strenuous exercise
saunas or steam rooms
hot baths or showers
swimming or spa use
If LED was performed after another treatment, follow the more restrictive aftercare instructions provided for that treatment.
-
LED Light Therapy does not replace sun protection.
Continue to:
apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
reapply sunscreen appropriately when outdoors
wear a hat and protective clothing where suitable
avoid deliberate tanning and excessive UV exposure
If LED followed an exfoliating, resurfacing or light-based treatment, sun protection may be particularly important during the healing period.
-
Most clients experience no adverse skin response.
Temporary effects may occasionally include:
mild redness
slight warmth
temporary tightness or dryness
minor sensitivity
temporary awareness of brightness after the protective eyewear is removed
These effects should settle quickly.
LED should not cause burning, blistering, significant swelling, broken skin or ongoing pain.
-
Protective eyewear is used during LED Light Therapy.
After treatment, your eyes may take a short time to adjust to normal room lighting. This should resolve quickly.
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience persistent:
eye discomfort
unusual light sensitivity
visual disturbance
headache associated with visual symptoms
Seek prompt medical advice for significant eye pain or changes to your vision.
-
LED Light Therapy is frequently incorporated into another professional facial or advanced skin treatment.
When LED follows treatments such as:
skin needling
chemical peels
IPL
laser
Dermaplaning
HydraFacial
Hydrodermabrasion
extractions
other resurfacing treatments
follow the aftercare instructions for the other or most intensive treatment performed.
LED does not shorten, replace or override the healing requirements of another treatment.
Your therapist will advise you which aftercare instructions apply.
-
Before future LED treatments, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
use a new topical prescription
develop a condition that causes light sensitivity
experience seizures triggered by light
develop a new eye condition
become pregnant
develop a rash, infection, wound or unusual skin reaction
experience an unexpected reaction following LED
Some medications and health conditions can increase sensitivity to light or affect treatment suitability.
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
persistent heat or burning
swelling
blistering
marked pain
a persistent rash
prolonged eye discomfort or unusual light sensitivity
any reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Seek urgent medical attention if you experience significant eye pain, changes to your vision, breathing difficulties or another serious reaction.
-
Avoid waxing, threading and depilatory creams over the treated area for approximately 7 days, or until the skin has completely healed.
Do not schedule another intensive treatment over the same area while the skin is healing.
This includes:
chemical peels
skin needling
laser or additional IPL
radiofrequency
HIFU
intensive exfoliation
other heat-based or resurfacing treatments
The appropriate interval depends on:
the treatment performed
your skin response
the area treated
the intensity of the planned treatment
your overall treatment program
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
increasing pain
persistent heat or burning
marked or worsening swelling
blistering
broken or weeping skin
extensive or unexpected crusting
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
signs of infection
any reaction that concerns you or is not progressively settling
Seek urgent medical attention for severe pain, extensive blistering, rapidly increasing swelling, breathing difficulties, visual changes or another serious reaction.
-
To support your skin and ongoing treatment plan:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin appropriately hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
attend LED treatments at the frequency recommended for your skin
tell your therapist about changes to your health, skin or medications
follow the aftercare for any other treatment performed at the same appointment
Your therapist will recommend the type and frequency of LED Light Therapy according to your skin condition, concerns and broader treatment plan.
LuminFusion Aftercare
LuminFusion combines professional exfoliation, nano-infusion and LED Light Therapy to support smoother texture, luminosity and an immediate refreshed appearance.
Because the treatment includes resurfacing and nano-infusion, the skin may temporarily be more sensitive to active skincare, heat, friction and sun exposure.
Following the aftercare below will help protect your skin while it settles.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
brighter and smoother
slightly pink or flushed
mildly warm
temporarily tight
mildly sensitive
more noticeable or reactive to skincare products
These effects are generally temporary and should begin settling within several hours.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking at the treated skin.
-
Keep your skincare simple, gentle and hydrating.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching or rubbing
exfoliating products
scrubs and cleansing brushes
strong active skincare
fragranced or potentially irritating products
waxing, threading or depilatory creams
excessive heat and heavy sweating
swimming pools, spas and chlorinated water
deliberate sun exposure
introducing unfamiliar skincare products
Use:
a gentle cleanser
suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
any skincare specifically recommended by your therapist
-
Cleanse gently using lukewarm water.
Avoid:
hot water
aggressive or repeated cleansing
cleansing brushes or exfoliating cloths
scrubbing the skin
heavily fragranced cleansers
products that sting, heat or irritate the skin
Pat the skin dry using a clean towel rather than rubbing it.
Continue using suitable moisturising and barrier-supportive products to maintain hydration and comfort.
Do not over-exfoliate in an attempt to extend the smooth feeling after your treatment.
-
For approximately 3–5 days, or until your skin feels completely settled, avoid strong or potentially irritating active products, including:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs or physical exfoliants
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other resurfacing or highly active products
More reactive skin may require a longer break.
Do not restart active products simply because a set amount of time has passed if your skin remains red, dry, tight, warm, flaky or sensitive.
Your therapist may recommend a different timeframe according to your skin and the treatment intensity used.
-
For approximately 24–48 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise that causes significant sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot baths and very hot showers
spas
swimming pools and heavily chlorinated water
activities that create excessive heat or friction over the treated area
Normal gentle showering is fine.
If redness, warmth or sensitivity continues, wait until the skin feels comfortable before returning to these activities.
-
Where possible, allow the skin to remain clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
If makeup is necessary after the skin has settled:
use clean hands, brushes, sponges and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
avoid heavy rubbing or pressure
remove makeup carefully without scrubbing
Do not apply makeup over broken, weeping or unusually irritated skin.
-
Freshly resurfaced skin can be more vulnerable to UV exposure.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day and take sensible additional precautions, including:
avoiding prolonged direct sun exposure
wearing a hat when outdoors
seeking shade where possible
reapplying sunscreen appropriately
avoiding solariums
Do not deliberately tan the treated area.
Continue careful sun protection throughout your treatment program.
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness or pinkness
slight warmth
temporary tightness
mild sensitivity
minor dryness
light flaking
increased awareness of the skin
temporary sensitivity when applying skincare
The skin may appear brighter and feel smoother immediately after treatment.
Some dryness or light flaking may develop over the following days. Do not pull, pick or exfoliate any flaking skin.
These effects should gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Mild dryness or light flaking can occur as the skin settles.
If this happens:
do not pick or peel the skin
do not scrub or exfoliate
avoid active products
cleanse gently
use suitable moisturising and barrier-supportive products
continue daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+
Allow any flaking to release naturally.
Picking or forcing away dry skin can increase irritation and the risk of delayed healing or changes in pigmentation.
-
Avoid waxing, threading and depilatory creams over the treated area for approximately 5–7 days, or until the skin has completely settled.
Do not schedule another intensive facial treatment immediately after LuminFusion.
This includes:
chemical peels
skin needling
laser or IPL
Dermaplaning
intensive resurfacing treatments
aggressive exfoliation
other treatments that create significant heat or irritation
The appropriate interval depends on:
your skin condition
the intensity of your LuminFusion treatment
how your skin responds
the treatment being planned
your broader treatment program
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing.
-
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed, as these may be more restrictive than LuminFusion aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if additional precautions apply.
-
Before your next appointment, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
begin using a new topical prescription
develop a new medical condition
experience unusual sensitivity to light
become pregnant
develop a rash, infection, wound or skin irritation
experience an unexpected reaction following treatment
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Avoid waxing, threading and depilatory creams over the treated area for approximately 7 days, or until the skin has completely healed.
Do not schedule another intensive treatment over the same area while the skin is healing.
This includes:
chemical peels
skin needling
laser or additional IPL
radiofrequency
HIFU
intensive exfoliation
other heat-based or resurfacing treatments
The appropriate interval depends on:
the treatment performed
your skin response
the area treated
the intensity of the planned treatment
your overall treatment program
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
persistent heat or burning
marked swelling
blistering
crusting
increasing pain
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
weeping, discharge or other signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Seek urgent medical care if you develop marked facial swelling, difficulty breathing, changes to your vision or another serious reaction.
-
To help maintain your results:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin well hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid unnecessary or excessive exfoliation
do not pick at dryness or flaking
attend professional treatments at the frequency recommended for your skin
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medications or health before your next appointment
Your therapist will recommend future LuminFusion treatments according to your skin condition, concerns and overall treatment plan rather than using one fixed schedule for everyone.
Massage Aftercare
Massage affects the muscles and soft tissues and may leave you feeling relaxed, tired or temporarily more aware of areas of tension.
Responses vary depending on the type and pressure of massage, the areas treated and your individual health and sensitivity.
-
After your massage, you may feel:
relaxed or sleepy
temporarily light-headed
warmer than usual
thirsty
aware of areas that were tight or tender
mildly sore following deeper or more targeted work
Take your time when sitting up and standing after treatment.
If you feel dizzy or unsteady, sit down and tell your therapist before leaving the salon.
-
Continue with your normal fluid intake following your massage.
Drink water regularly according to your usual needs, particularly if you have exercised, spent time in hot weather or have not consumed much fluid during the day.
Massage does not require excessive water consumption, and you do not need to force yourself to drink unusually large quantities.
Follow any fluid restrictions provided by your medical practitioner.
-
Gentle normal activity is usually appropriate after massage.
If your muscles feel tender or fatigued, avoid strenuous exercise or intensive training for the remainder of the day.
A gentle walk or light movement may feel comfortable, but do not push through pain or significant discomfort.
Return to normal exercise when your body feels comfortable.
-
A warm shower may feel comfortable after massage.
Avoid very hot baths, saunas, steam rooms or other intense heat if you feel:
light-headed
unusually tired
dehydrated
flushed
unwell
Heat can increase feelings of dizziness in some people.
-
Mild muscular tenderness can occur after deeper or targeted massage.
This may feel similar to temporary post-exercise soreness and should gradually improve.
To manage mild tenderness:
continue gentle movement
avoid strenuous activity over the affected muscles
use comfortable warmth if appropriate
rest as needed
avoid aggressively massaging the same area again
Do not apply extreme heat or ice directly to the skin.
-
Temporary responses may include:
relaxation
sleepiness
mild fatigue
temporary light-headedness
increased awareness of muscular tension
mild tenderness
temporary stiffness
a feeling of warmth
emotional relaxation or release
These effects should be mild and progressively settle.
Significant pain, worsening symptoms, marked swelling or neurological symptoms are not expected responses.
-
Massage oils or creams can generally remain on the skin if they feel comfortable.
If you prefer to remove them:
shower using lukewarm water
use a gentle body cleanser
avoid aggressive scrubbing
pat the skin dry
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you develop persistent itching, redness, swelling or a rash that may indicate sensitivity to a massage product.
-
Minor bruising may occasionally occur, particularly if:
deeper pressure was used
the area was already tender
you bruise easily
you take medication or supplements that affect bruising
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if bruising is extensive, painful, worsening or accompanied by significant swelling.
Discuss unexplained or recurrent bruising with your medical practitioner.
-
Massage is not a substitute for medical assessment or treatment.
If you have an injury, medical condition or persistent pain:
follow the advice of your treating medical or allied health practitioner
do not discontinue prescribed treatment
avoid activities that aggravate your symptoms
seek assessment if symptoms worsen or change
Tell your therapist about changes to your health, medication, pregnancy status or injuries before your next appointment.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or increasing pain
marked or worsening swelling
extensive bruising
persistent skin irritation or rash
symptoms that concern you or do not appear to be settling normally
-
Seek prompt medical attention if you experience:
severe or worsening pain
sudden weakness or numbness
loss of normal movement
chest pain
difficulty breathing
severe headache
fainting
signs of a significant allergic reaction
another sudden or serious symptom
These symptoms should not be assumed to be a normal response to massage.
-
To support your comfort following massage:
continue normal hydration
rest if you feel tired
use gentle movement as comfortable
avoid strenuous exercise if the muscles feel tender
follow any individual advice provided by your therapist
seek appropriate medical or allied health assessment for persistent pain or injury
Future massage appointments should be scheduled according to your goals, comfort, health and treatment plan rather than following one fixed schedule for everyone.
MelanoPro Peel Aftercare
MelanoPro Peel System is a two-phase professional pigmentation program rather than a single peel appointment.
Phase One is the professionally applied Intensive Peeling Masque. Phase Two is the prescribed homecare program completed over approximately four to six weeks.
Following the program exactly is essential. Do not add, replace or increase products without guidance from your therapist.
-
Your therapist will apply the MelanoPro Intensive Peeling Masque in the salon.
The masque remains on your skin when you leave and must be removed at home after the exact period prescribed by your therapist, generally four to seven hours after application.
Your therapist will tell you your required removal time before you leave.
While the masque is on:
do not cleanse the skin
do not apply water, mist, makeup, sunscreen or other products over it
do not attempt to keep the masque moist
avoid touching, rubbing or scratching the skin
avoid exercise, sweating and excessive heat
avoid direct sun exposure
keep the skin dry
do not leave the masque on longer than instructed
The masque may become dry or feel tight as it remains on the skin. This is expected.
-
At the time specified by your therapist:
Wash your hands thoroughly.
Use tepid water and your fingertips to gently remove the masque.
Do not use a face cloth, cleansing brush, exfoliating pad or other cleansing device.
Do not scrub or rub the skin.
Rinse carefully until the masque has been completely removed.
Gently pat the skin dry using a clean, soft towel.
Apply UltraCalming Mist as instructed.
Do not use hot water.
If you need to remove the masque earlier than instructed because of significant discomfort, swelling or another concerning reaction, remove it gently with tepid water and your fingertips, apply UltraCalming Mist and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty.
-
For the first 24–48 hours after removing the masque, use UltraCalming Mist only, together with your prescribed physical sunscreen when required and as directed by your therapist.
Do not use your usual:
cleanser
moisturiser
serum
facial oil
retinoid or retinol
exfoliant
vitamin C
acne treatment
prescription topical product
mask
active skincare
Do not introduce any other product unless your therapist has specifically instructed you to use it.
During this period:
avoid touching, rubbing or scratching the skin
avoid makeup
avoid strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
avoid saunas and steam rooms
avoid hot showers directly over the face
avoid swimming pools and spas
avoid prolonged or direct sun exposure
do not wax, thread or use depilatory products
do not pick at dryness or peeling
-
Beginning approximately 24–48 hours after masque removal, or at the time directed by your therapist, commence the prescribed Phase Two homecare routine.
Use only the products and frequency prescribed for you.
Your routine may include:
UltraCalming Cleanser or Special Cleansing Gel
UltraCalming Mist
MelanoPro Continuous Resurfacing Cream
your prescribed broad-spectrum physical sunscreen
Apply the Continuous Resurfacing Cream in a thin, even layer according to your therapist’s instructions.
It may be prescribed between one and three times daily, depending on your skin response and tolerance.
Do not apply more product or use it more frequently in an attempt to accelerate your results.
-
When applying the Continuous Resurfacing Cream:
begin with clean, dry hands
cleanse gently as instructed
pat the skin dry
apply only a thin, even layer
avoid the eyes, eyelids, lips and other sensitive areas
do not apply over broken, blistered or weeping skin
wash your hands after application
follow with your prescribed sunscreen during the day
Some tingling, warmth or temporary sensitivity may occur after application.
If these sensations remain significant for longer than approximately 15–20 minutes, reduce the application frequency and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty for advice.
Stop using the Continuous Resurfacing Cream and contact us promptly if you experience significant irritation, swelling, pain, blistering or another reaction that concerns you.
-
Continue the prescribed MelanoPro routine for the remainder of the four-to-six-week program.
The Continuous Resurfacing Cream may be used up to three times daily if your skin is tolerating it well and that frequency has been prescribed by your therapist.
If your skin becomes increasingly dry, sensitive or uncomfortable, your therapist may reduce the frequency to once or twice daily.
Do not change the routine independently. Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty so your skin can be reviewed and your program adjusted safely.
-
MelanoPro produces a progressive skin response.
Days 1–6
You may experience:
redness
warmth
tightness
dryness
sensitivity
visible flaking or peeling
temporary darkening of pigmentation
Peeling varies between clients. Some clients experience visible shedding, while others experience dryness or fine flaking.
The absence of dramatic peeling does not mean the program is not working.
Days 7–15
The skin may continue adjusting to the Continuous Resurfacing Cream.
You may notice:
continued dryness or light flaking
periods of sensitivity
uneven shedding
darkened pigmentation beginning to lift
gradual improvement in brightness and clarity
Days 16–48
Visible results generally continue developing as the prescribed homecare phase progresses.
Pigmentation, clarity and skin tone should be assessed across the full program rather than judged during the initial peeling stage.
Individual results vary, and some pigmentation conditions require ongoing management.
-
Do not:
pull or peel shedding skin
scratch or pick
use scrubs
use exfoliating brushes or cloths
dermaplane the skin
use exfoliating acids or enzymes
apply adhesive tape to lift peeling skin
use steam to loosen peeling
rub the skin with a towel
attempt to make the skin peel more quickly
Allow all peeling and flaking to release naturally.
Picking or forcing the skin to shed can increase the risk of prolonged irritation, infection, scarring and unwanted pigmentation changes.
-
Once cleansing has been introduced according to your program:
use only the cleanser recommended by your therapist
use tepid water
cleanse using clean fingertips
avoid cleansing brushes, face cloths and exfoliating tools
do not scrub or repeatedly cleanse
pat the skin dry gently
If cleansing causes significant burning or prolonged irritation, stop and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty.
-
Do not add your usual moisturiser, serum, oil, mask or active products unless your therapist has specifically approved them.
Using unapproved products can:
increase irritation
interfere with the prescribed program
make it difficult to determine what has caused a reaction
reduce your ability to follow the required treatment schedule safely
If your skin feels excessively dry or uncomfortable, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty rather than introducing another product yourself.
-
Strict sun protection is essential throughout the MelanoPro program.
Use the broad-spectrum physical sunscreen prescribed or approved by your therapist every day.
Also:
avoid prolonged direct sun exposure
wear a hat when outdoors
seek shade whenever possible
reapply sunscreen appropriately
do not deliberately tan
do not use solariums
minimise heat and sun exposure through windows where practical
Sun exposure can increase irritation and contribute to further pigmentation.
Continue diligent daily sun protection after completing the program to help protect and maintain your results.
-
Avoid makeup for at least the first 24–48 hours and while the skin feels hot, significantly irritated, broken or actively shedding.
When makeup is resumed:
use clean hands, brushes and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
avoid heavy rubbing or blending
remove makeup gently using your prescribed cleanser
stop if makeup causes stinging or irritation
Do not apply makeup over blistered, weeping or broken skin.
-
For at least the first 24–48 hours, and longer if the skin remains warm or sensitive, avoid:
strenuous exercise
heavy sweating
saunas
steam rooms
hot baths
very hot showers
spas
swimming pools
chlorinated water
activities that create excessive facial heat
During visible peeling, continue avoiding activities that cause significant heat, sweating or irritation.
-
Do not wax, thread, epilate or use depilatory creams over the treated area during the active MelanoPro program.
Avoid other hair-removal treatments until the skin has completely healed and your therapist has confirmed they can be safely resumed.
Do not dermaplane the treated area during the program.
-
Allow at least two to three weeks after completing the active treatment phase before having another professional skin treatment, unless your therapist has provided a different treatment schedule.
Do not independently schedule:
chemical peels
Dermaplaning
skin needling
laser
IPL
radiofrequency
HIFU
microdermabrasion
Hydrodermabrasion
intensive exfoliation
other resurfacing or heat-based treatments
Your therapist will determine suitable timing according to your skin response and pigmentation treatment plan.
-
Your MelanoPro program at Sibu Skin and Beauty includes three LED Light Therapy treatments to support the skin during the program.
Attend these appointments according to the schedule provided by your therapist.
LED does not replace the prescribed MelanoPro homecare. Continue following your homecare instructions unless your therapist changes them after reviewing your skin.
Your therapist will also monitor your skin’s progress and response throughout the program.
-
Expected temporary responses may include:
redness
warmth
tightness
dryness
sensitivity
tingling after product application
flaking
visible peeling
temporary darkening of pigmentation
uneven shedding
skin that feels more reactive than usual
These responses vary between clients and may change throughout the program.
Expected reactions should remain manageable and should be monitored rather than progressively becoming severe.
-
Stop applying the Continuous Resurfacing Cream and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or rapidly worsening redness
marked swelling
severe or persistent pain
intense burning
blistering
broken or weeping skin
extensive crusting
a widespread rash
signs of infection
significant darkening or lightening of the skin
a reaction that concerns you
sensitivity that is not manageable by reducing the application frequency
Your therapist may ask you to stop the active phase temporarily, provide photographs or attend a review before resuming the program.
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop difficulty breathing, marked facial or eye swelling, changes to your vision or another serious reaction.
-
Tell Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if, during the program, you:
begin a new medication or supplement
begin using a prescription topical product
become pregnant
develop a medical condition
develop a skin infection, rash or wound
experience unusual photosensitivity
have significant sun exposure or become tanned
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Continue the prescribed homecare for the full period recommended by your therapist, generally four to six weeks.
Do not continue the Continuous Resurfacing Cream beyond the prescribed program without review and approval.
At the completion of the program, your therapist will advise:
when to stop the Continuous Resurfacing Cream
how to transition back to your regular skincare
when active skincare can be safely reintroduced
whether further pigmentation treatment is appropriate
how to maintain your results
when another professional treatment can be performed
-
Pigmentation can recur or become more noticeable with UV exposure, heat, hormonal influences, inflammation and other triggers.
To help maintain your results:
use broad-spectrum sunscreen every day
minimise unnecessary sun exposure
avoid deliberate tanning
follow your prescribed homecare
avoid picking or irritating the skin
attend your included LED and review appointments
follow the ongoing pigmentation plan recommended by your therapist
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medications or health
If you are unsure whether a reaction is normal, whether to apply the Continuous Resurfacing Cream or when to restart another product, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty before continuing.
Multi-Layer Peel Aftercare
Multi-Layer Peel, powered by Murad, is a customised professional resurfacing treatment designed to improve skin texture, clarity, brightness and overall skin renewal.
Murad professional peels are designed to deliver intensive resurfacing with low-to-no downtime. Your individual response will depend on the peel selected, treatment intensity and your skin condition.
Always follow any personalised instructions provided by your Sibu therapist.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
pink or flushed
warm
tight
mildly sensitive
smooth and refreshed
more reactive to skincare products
These effects are generally temporary.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking at the treated skin.
-
Keep your skincare simple, gentle and protective.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching or rubbing
makeup where possible
active skincare
exfoliating products
scrubs or cleansing brushes
fragranced or potentially irritating products
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot showers directly over the face
swimming pools and spas
waxing, threading and depilatory creams
deliberate sun exposure
introducing unfamiliar skincare products
Use only:
a gentle cleanser
soothing and barrier-supportive products recommended by your therapist
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
Your therapist may provide more restrictive instructions depending on the peel performed.
-
Cleanse gently using lukewarm water.
Avoid:
hot water
aggressive or repeated cleansing
cleansing brushes
exfoliating cloths or pads
scrubbing
fragranced or foaming products that leave the skin feeling tight
products that sting, burn or create heat
Use clean fingertips and pat the skin dry gently with a clean towel.
Do not attempt to cleanse away dryness, flaking or peeling skin.
-
Use the moisturising and barrier-supportive products recommended by your therapist.
Apply moisturiser gently without rubbing or pulling at the skin.
If the skin feels dry or tight:
continue gentle cleansing
apply your recommended moisturiser
avoid active products
do not exfoliate
do not introduce oils, balms or unfamiliar products without advice
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if dryness or tightness becomes difficult to manage.
-
Avoid strong or potentially irritating active products for approximately 5–7 days, or until your skin has completely settled.
This includes:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs and physical exfoliants
cleansing brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other resurfacing or highly active products
Depending on the peel performed and your skin response, your therapist may recommend a longer break.
Do not restart active skincare simply because a set amount of time has passed if your skin remains:
red
warm
tight
dry
flaky
peeling
crusted
sensitive or uncomfortable
Gradually reintroduce your normal active skincare only when your skin has completely settled and your therapist has advised that it is appropriate.
-
For approximately 24–48 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise
heavy sweating
saunas
steam rooms
hot baths
very hot showers
spas
swimming pools
chlorinated water
activities that create excessive facial heat
Normal gentle showering is fine.
If redness, warmth or sensitivity continues, wait until the skin feels comfortable before returning to these activities.
-
Where possible, leave the skin clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
If makeup is necessary after the skin has settled:
use clean hands, brushes, sponges and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
avoid heavy rubbing or pressure
remove makeup carefully without scrubbing
Do not apply makeup over blistered, broken, weeping, crusted or significantly peeling skin.
-
Freshly resurfaced skin can be more vulnerable to UV exposure and unwanted pigmentation.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day.
Also:
avoid prolonged direct sun exposure
wear a hat when outdoors
seek shade whenever possible
reapply sunscreen appropriately
do not deliberately tan
do not use solariums
Continue diligent sun protection throughout your treatment program and after the skin has visibly healed.
-
Visible peeling is not required for the treatment to be effective.
Depending on the peel selected, you may experience:
no visible peeling
mild dryness
fine flaking
patchy shedding
more noticeable peeling
Peeling may begin several days after treatment rather than immediately.
Do not:
pull or peel shedding skin
scratch or pick
use scrubs
use exfoliating brushes or cloths
apply exfoliating acids or enzymes
use steam to loosen peeling skin
rub the skin with a towel
attempt to accelerate the peeling process
Allow all flaking and peeling to release naturally.
Picking or forcing the skin to shed can increase the risk of irritation, infection, scarring and changes in pigmentation.
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness or pinkness
warmth
tightness
dryness
mild sensitivity
light flaking or peeling
temporary darkening of pigmentation
uneven shedding
temporary sensitivity when applying skincare
mild breakout activity as existing congestion becomes more noticeable
The skin may initially look brighter and feel smoother before dryness or flaking develops.
These responses should remain manageable and gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Occasionally, congestion already developing beneath the skin may become more noticeable following treatment.
Do not:
squeeze or pick blemishes
apply strong spot treatments unless advised
scrub the area
introduce new acne products while the skin is healing
Continue gentle cleansing and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if breakouts are significant, painful or accompanied by a rash or widespread irritation.
-
Avoid the following over the treated area for at least 7 days, or until the skin has completely healed:
waxing
threading
depilatory creams
epilation
Dermaplaning
Your therapist may recommend a longer interval depending on the strength of the peel and your skin response.
-
Do not schedule another intensive facial treatment over the same area while the skin is healing.
This includes:
another chemical peel
skin needling
laser
IPL
radiofrequency
HIFU
Dermaplaning
microdermabrasion
Hydrodermabrasion
intensive exfoliation
other heat-based or resurfacing procedures
Generally, allow at least two weeks, but the appropriate interval depends on:
the peel solutions used
the number of layers applied
your skin condition
how your skin responds
the next treatment being planned
Your therapist will confirm when your skin is ready for another professional treatment.
-
If the Murad Multi-Layer Peel was combined with another professional treatment or enhancement, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed.
These instructions may be more restrictive than peel aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if additional precautions apply.
-
Before your next appointment, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
begin using a prescription topical product
develop a new medical condition
become pregnant
experience unusual sensitivity to light
develop a rash, infection, wound or skin irritation
have significant sun exposure or become tanned
experience an unexpected reaction following treatment
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
intense or persistent burning
marked swelling
blistering
broken or weeping skin
extensive or unexpected crusting
severe or increasing pain
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Your therapist may ask you to provide clear photographs or attend the salon so the skin can be assessed.
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop difficulty breathing, marked facial or eye swelling, changes to your vision or another serious reaction.
-
To help maintain your results:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin appropriately hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid unnecessary or excessive exfoliation
do not pick at peeling skin or congestion
attend treatments at the frequency recommended for your skin
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medications or health
follow any specific instructions provided for the peel solutions used
Your therapist will recommend future Murad Multi-Layer Peel treatments according to your skin condition, concerns, recovery and overall treatment plan rather than following one fixed schedule for everyone.
Nails Aftercare
Following suitable aftercare will help protect your natural nails, maintain the appearance of your manicure or pedicure and reduce the risk of lifting, chipping, breakage or irritation.
Aftercare may vary slightly depending on whether your treatment included natural nail care, regular polish, gel polish or detailed cuticle work.
-
Take care around the nails and surrounding skin, particularly if cuticle work has been performed.
Avoid:
picking, biting or peeling the nails
pulling at cuticles or surrounding skin
using the nails as tools
excessive pressure or impact
applying fragranced or irritating products over any sensitive skin
touching the finish unnecessarily while regular polish is drying
Tell your nail technician before leaving if you notice discomfort, heat, pressure or anything that does not feel right.
-
Regular nail polish can remain vulnerable to smudging, denting or marking while it fully dries.
For several hours after your appointment:
avoid tight shoes following a pedicure
avoid prolonged water exposure
avoid hot baths, showers and steam
avoid activities that may dent or mark the polish
take care when fastening clothing, opening bags or handling keys
avoid applying heavy pressure to the nails
Even when the surface feels dry, deeper layers of polish may still be setting.
-
Shellac and Bio Sculpture Gel are cured during your appointment and should be fully set when you leave.
To help maintain your nails:
avoid picking, peeling or lifting the product
do not use your nails to open containers, scrape surfaces or perform other tasks
wear gloves when cleaning, gardening or using chemicals
avoid prolonged exposure to harsh cleaning products
apply cuticle oil regularly
have lifting, chips or damage professionally assessed
arrange professional removal when required
Do not peel Shellac or Bio Sculpture Gel from your nails. Peeling can remove layers of the natural nail and contribute to thinning, weakness and splitting.
-
Frequent exposure to water, cleaning products and chemicals can contribute to dryness, lifting and premature chipping.
To protect your nails:
wear gloves when washing dishes or cleaning
wear suitable gloves when gardening
dry hands and feet thoroughly after washing
avoid prolonged soaking where possible
keep nails away from harsh solvents and cleaning chemicals
apply hand cream and cuticle oil after frequent handwashing
If a product causes stinging or irritation around recently treated cuticles, rinse the area and discontinue use.
-
Cuticles and surrounding skin may feel temporarily tender after detailed nail or cuticle work.
For the first 24 hours:
avoid picking, biting or cutting the cuticles
avoid aggressive scrubbing
avoid fragranced products if the skin feels sensitive
keep the area clean
moisturise gently
do not apply products over broken skin unless advised
Continue using cuticle oil regularly once the skin feels comfortable.
Do not cut or aggressively push back your own cuticles between appointments.
-
To maintain healthy-looking nails and surrounding skin:
apply cuticle oil regularly
use hand cream after washing
massage moisturiser gently into the hands, feet and surrounding nail area
keep nails at a manageable length
avoid repeated exposure to drying chemicals
wear gloves during wet work
Regular hydration can help keep the surrounding skin flexible and reduce dryness and splitting.
-
To reduce chipping, lifting and breakage:
do not use your nails as tools
avoid biting or picking
use the pads of your fingers where possible
wear gloves for cleaning and gardening
avoid forcing lids, clasps or objects open with your nails
have lifting or damaged product professionally assessed
book maintenance or removal before the product becomes significantly overgrown
Nail services are cosmetic and cannot prevent damage caused by impact, picking, prolonged chemical exposure or inappropriate home removal.
-
Following a pedicure:
wear clean, comfortable footwear
avoid tight shoes while regular polish is drying
keep the feet clean and dry
moisturise regularly, avoiding heavy product between the toes
avoid picking at dry skin or cuticles
do not use blades or sharp tools to remove hard skin
allow any minor cuticle sensitivity to settle
wear footwear in communal wet areas
If you have diabetes, impaired circulation, reduced sensation or another condition affecting the feet, follow the advice of your medical or podiatry practitioner.
-
Professional removal is recommended for gel and other soak-off nail products.
Do not:
peel or pull product from the nail
scrape the nail plate
force lifted product away
use sharp implements underneath the product
aggressively buff the natural nail
repeatedly soak the surrounding skin in acetone unnecessarily
Incorrect removal can thin and damage the natural nail.
If you cannot attend professional removal, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty for advice before attempting removal at home.
-
If product lifts, chips or breaks:
do not pick or peel it
avoid catching or pulling the damaged area
gently smooth a sharp free edge with a suitable file if necessary
keep the area clean and dry
arrange professional repair or removal
Do not glue damaged product back onto the nail. Moisture and debris may become trapped underneath.
If the natural nail is torn, bleeding or painful, protect the area and seek appropriate first aid or medical care.
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild cuticle tenderness
slight sensitivity around recently treated skin
awareness of shortened or reshaped nails
temporary pressure from enclosed shoes following a pedicure
minor dryness around the nail area
These effects should settle quickly.
Persistent pain, throbbing, heat, swelling or increasing redness is not considered a normal response.
-
A reaction to a nail or skincare product may cause:
persistent itching
redness
swelling
blistering
burning
peeling skin
rash around the fingers, toes or elsewhere
separation of the nail from the nail bed
Stop using any suspected homecare product and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you develop these symptoms.
Seek medical advice for a significant or persistent reaction. Seek urgent medical attention if you experience difficulty breathing, facial swelling or other symptoms of a severe allergic reaction.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or increasing pain
persistent redness or swelling
heat or throbbing
blistering
discharge
bleeding that does not settle
product lifting shortly after application
significant damage to the natural nail
unusual changes in nail colour
a reaction that concerns you
Nail technicians cannot diagnose or treat infections or medical nail conditions. You may be referred to a pharmacist, medical practitioner or podiatrist where appropriate.
-
Seek appropriate professional advice if you notice:
increasing pain, heat or swelling
pus or discharge
spreading redness
significant nail separation
a persistent green, yellow, brown or black discolouration
a wound that is not healing
changes associated with diabetes or poor circulation
another suspected infection or medical nail condition
Do not cover a suspected infection or damaged nail with additional nail product.
-
To maintain your nails between appointments:
apply cuticle oil regularly
moisturise your hands and feet
wear gloves during cleaning and wet work
avoid biting, picking and peeling
protect nails from impact
arrange professional repairs and removal
attend maintenance appointments at the frequency recommended for your nail service
tell your nail technician about any changes to your nails, skin, medications or health before your next appointment
Your nail technician will recommend suitable maintenance based on your natural nails, chosen service, lifestyle and how the product wears between appointments.
NanoInfusion Aftercare
NanoInfusion uses a specialised nano-tip to create superficial pathways that support the infusion of professional skincare ingredients.
The treatment does not use traditional needles or create the same recovery response as Skin Needling. However, the skin has been actively treated and may temporarily be more sensitive.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
smooth and refreshed
slightly pink
mildly warm
temporarily tight
mildly sensitive
more reactive to skincare products
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking at the skin.
-
Follow your therapist’s instructions regarding when to cleanse and what products to apply.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching
makeup where possible
strong active skincare
exfoliating products
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot showers directly over the face
swimming pools and spas
waxing and depilatory creams
deliberate sun exposure
introducing unfamiliar skincare
Use only the products recommended by your therapist.
-
When cleansing is resumed:
wash your hands first
use lukewarm water
use a gentle cleanser
cleanse with clean fingertips
avoid cleansing brushes and cloths
pat the skin dry
do not scrub
-
Avoid potentially irritating active products for approximately 3–5 days, or until the skin has completely settled.
This includes:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed
AHAs and BHAs
exfoliating acids and enzymes
scrubs
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other resurfacing products
Do not restart active products while the skin remains red, dry, tight, warm or sensitive.
-
Where possible, remain makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
When makeup is resumed:
ensure the skin feels comfortable
use clean hands and applicators
choose gentle products
remove makeup without scrubbing
-
For approximately 24 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise
heavy sweating
saunas
steam rooms
hot baths or showers
spas
swimming pools
excessive facial heat
Normal gentle showering is fine.
-
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day.
Also:
avoid prolonged sun exposure
wear a hat
seek shade
reapply sunscreen appropriately
avoid deliberate tanning and solariums
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness
warmth
tightness
mild sensitivity
temporary dryness
light flaking
sensitivity when applying skincare
These effects should settle progressively.
NanoInfusion should not cause significant bleeding, severe pain, blistering or prolonged swelling.
-
Follow the specific instructions provided for the professional product used during your treatment.
Do not apply additional active serums or unfamiliar products unless advised.
The use of a professional booster does not replace gentle cleansing, hydration and sun protection.
-
Avoid waxing, threading, depilatory creams and Dermaplaning for approximately 5–7 days, or until the skin has settled.
Allow at least one to two weeks before another intensive treatment unless your therapist recommends otherwise.
-
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
persistent burning
marked swelling
blistering
increasing pain
a widespread rash
broken or weeping skin
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you
-
Maintaining Your Results

Plump Peel Aftercare
Plump Peel, powered by Dermalogica, is a two-phase professional treatment that combines gentle resurfacing with intensive hydration.
It is specifically designed to improve smoothness, clarity, hydration and visible plumpness while preserving the skin barrier, with zero expected downtime.
Always follow any personalised instructions provided by your Sibu therapist.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
smoother and more hydrated
brighter or refreshed
slightly pink or flushed
mildly warm
temporarily tight
mildly sensitive
more reactive to skincare products
These effects are generally temporary and should begin settling within several hours.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking at the treated skin.
-
Keep your skincare simple, gentle and protective.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching or rubbing
exfoliating products
scrubs or cleansing brushes
strong active skincare
fragranced or potentially irritating products
waxing, threading and depilatory creams
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot showers directly over the face
swimming pools and spas
deliberate sun exposure
introducing unfamiliar skincare products
Use:
a gentle cleanser
suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
any skincare specifically recommended by your therapist
-
Cleanse gently using lukewarm water.
Avoid:
hot water
aggressive or repeated cleansing
cleansing brushes
exfoliating cloths or pads
scrubbing
heavily fragranced cleansers
products that sting, burn or create heat
Use clean fingertips and gently pat the skin dry with a clean towel.
Do not attempt to cleanse away dryness, flaking or peeling skin.
-
Continue using the moisturising and barrier-supportive products recommended by your therapist.
If the skin feels dry or tight:
cleanse gently
apply your recommended moisturiser
avoid active skincare
do not exfoliate
do not pick or rub the skin
avoid introducing unfamiliar products
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if dryness, tightness or irritation becomes difficult to manage.
-
Avoid strong or potentially irritating active products for approximately 3–5 days, or until your skin feels completely settled.
This includes:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs and physical exfoliants
cleansing brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other resurfacing or highly active products
More reactive skin may require a longer break.
Do not restart active skincare simply because a set amount of time has passed if your skin remains:
red
warm
tight
dry
flaky
sensitive
uncomfortable
Gradually return to your normal skincare when the skin feels settled and according to your therapist’s instructions.
-
For approximately 24–48 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise
heavy sweating
saunas
steam rooms
hot baths
very hot showers
spas
swimming pools
heavily chlorinated water
activities that create excessive facial heat
Normal gentle showering is fine.
If redness, warmth or sensitivity continues, wait until the skin feels comfortable before returning to these activities.
-
Where possible, allow the skin to remain clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
If makeup is necessary after the skin has settled:
use clean hands, brushes, sponges and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
avoid heavy rubbing or pressure
remove makeup carefully without scrubbing
Do not apply makeup over blistered, broken, weeping or significantly irritated skin.
-
Freshly resurfaced skin can be more vulnerable to UV exposure.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day.
Also:
avoid prolonged direct sun exposure
wear a hat when outdoors
seek shade whenever possible
reapply sunscreen appropriately
do not deliberately tan
do not use solariums
Continue diligent sun protection throughout your treatment program and after the skin has visibly settled.
-
Visible peeling is not required for the Plump Peel to be effective.
Depending on your skin and the treatment performed, you may experience:
no visible peeling
temporary dryness
fine flaking
mild patchy shedding
If flaking occurs:
do not pull or peel the skin
do not scratch or pick
do not use scrubs
do not use exfoliating brushes or cloths
do not apply acids or exfoliating enzymes
do not use steam to loosen the skin
do not attempt to accelerate peeling
Allow all dryness and flaking to release naturally.
Picking can increase irritation and the risk of delayed healing, infection or changes in pigmentation.
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness or pinkness
slight warmth
tightness
mild sensitivity
temporary dryness
light flaking
temporary sensitivity when applying skincare
mild breakout activity as existing congestion becomes more noticeable
The skin may look brighter and feel smoother or more hydrated immediately after treatment.
These responses should remain manageable and gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Occasionally, congestion already developing beneath the skin may become more noticeable after treatment.
Do not:
squeeze or pick blemishes
apply strong spot treatments unless advised
scrub the area
introduce new acne products while the skin is settling
Continue gentle cleansing and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if breakouts are significant, painful or accompanied by widespread irritation.
-
Avoid the following over the treated area for approximately 5–7 days, or until the skin has completely settled:
waxing
threading
depilatory creams
epilation
Dermaplaning
Your therapist may recommend a longer interval depending on your skin response.
-
Do not schedule another intensive facial treatment over the same area while the skin is settling.
This includes:
chemical peels
skin needling
laser
IPL
radiofrequency
HIFU
Dermaplaning
microdermabrasion
Hydrodermabrasion
intensive exfoliation
other heat-based or resurfacing treatments
Generally allow at least one to two weeks, but the appropriate interval depends on:
your skin condition
the treatment performed
your recovery
the next procedure being planned
your overall treatment program
Your therapist will confirm when your skin is ready for another treatment.
-
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed, as these may be more restrictive than Plump Peel aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if additional precautions apply.
-
Before your next appointment, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
begin using a prescription topical product
develop a medical condition
become pregnant
experience unusual sensitivity to light
develop a rash, infection, wound or skin irritation
have significant sun exposure or become tanned
experience an unexpected reaction following treatment
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
intense or persistent burning
marked swelling
blistering
broken or weeping skin
extensive or unexpected crusting
severe or increasing pain
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop difficulty breathing, marked facial or eye swelling, changes to your vision or another serious reaction.
-
To help maintain your results:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin well hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid unnecessary or excessive exfoliation
do not pick at dryness, flaking or congestion
attend treatments at the frequency recommended for your skin
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medication or health
follow any specific instructions provided by your therapist
Your therapist will recommend future Plump Peel treatments according to your skin condition, concerns, recovery and overall treatment plan rather than following one fixed schedule for everyone.
RF Skin Tightening Aftercare
RF Skin Tightening uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently heat targeted tissue and support gradual collagen renewal, firmness and skin tightening.
The skin’s surface remains intact and most clients can return to normal daily activities immediately. Temporary warmth, redness, swelling or tenderness may occur while the treated area settles.
-
The treated area may appear or feel:
warm
mildly pink or flushed
slightly swollen
temporarily tight
mildly tender or sensitive
firmer immediately after treatment
These effects are generally temporary and should begin settling within several hours.
Avoid rubbing, pressing, scratching or repeatedly touching the treated area.
-
Allow the treated area to cool naturally.
If the skin feels uncomfortable, a clean, cool compress may be applied for short periods.
Do not:
apply ice directly to the skin
use frozen packs without wrapping them
apply excessive pressure
use fragranced or irritating soothing products
Use only gentle skincare or products recommended by your therapist.
-
Keep the skin clean, comfortable and protected.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching or rubbing
facial massage or massage devices
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot baths and very hot showers
activities that create excessive heat
fragranced or potentially irritating products
introducing unfamiliar skincare products
deliberate sun exposure
Use:
a gentle cleanser
suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ during the day
any skincare specifically recommended by your therapist
-
Cleanse gently using lukewarm water.
Avoid:
hot water
aggressive cleansing
cleansing brushes or exfoliating cloths
scrubbing
heavily fragranced products
skincare that stings or creates heat
Pat the skin dry using a clean towel rather than rubbing it.
Continue using suitable hydrating and moisturising products to maintain skin comfort.
-
RF Skin Tightening does not usually require an extended break from normal skincare.
However, if the skin feels warm or sensitive, avoid potentially irritating active products for approximately 24–48 hours, including:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids or enzymes
scrubs and physical exfoliants
cleansing brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other products that cause stinging or irritation
Do not restart active products while the skin remains red, warm, swollen or sensitive.
Your therapist may recommend a different timeframe depending on your skin and the intensity of treatment.
-
For approximately 24 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise
heavy sweating
saunas
steam rooms
hot baths
very hot showers
spas
other activities that significantly heat the treated area
Normal gentle showering is fine.
Swimming can generally be resumed once the skin feels comfortable and shows no ongoing redness or sensitivity.
-
Makeup can generally be applied after RF Skin Tightening when the skin feels cool, comfortable and intact.
If the skin remains warm or flushed:
allow it to settle before applying makeup
use clean hands, brushes and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
remove makeup carefully without rubbing
Do not apply makeup over blistered, broken or unusually irritated skin.
-
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day following treatment.
Also:
avoid prolonged direct sun exposure
wear a hat when outdoors
seek shade where possible
reapply sunscreen appropriately
avoid deliberate tanning and solariums
Consistent sun protection helps support skin health and protect your treatment results.
-
Temporary responses may include:
mild redness
warmth
slight swelling or puffiness
temporary tightness
mild tenderness
increased awareness of the treated area
temporary sensitivity when applying skincare
These effects should remain mild and progressively settle.
RF Skin Tightening should not cause significant pain, blistering, burns, broken skin or prolonged swelling.
-
You may notice an immediate feeling of firmness or tightness following treatment. Some of this early change may be temporary.
Further improvement may develop gradually as the skin responds and collagen renewal occurs.
Do not assess the final result immediately after treatment. Results vary according to:
age and skin condition
the degree of skin laxity
the area treated
the treatment settings used
the number and frequency of treatments
individual collagen response
lifestyle and ongoing skin care
Follow-up photographs and review appointments provide a more reliable way to assess gradual change.
-
Avoid facial massage, gua sha and massage devices over the treated area for approximately 48 hours, or until all tenderness has settled.
Do not use home radiofrequency, microcurrent, ultrasound or other energy-based devices over the area unless your therapist has confirmed that they are appropriate.
-
Do not schedule another intensive treatment over the same area immediately after RF Skin Tightening.
This includes:
HIFU
additional radiofrequency
skin needling
chemical peels
laser
IPL
intensive resurfacing
other heat-based procedures
The appropriate interval depends on:
your skin response
the area treated
the intensity of the RF treatment
the next treatment being planned
your overall treatment program
Your therapist will advise you on appropriate timing.
If you are planning cosmetic injectables, dental procedures or another medical or aesthetic treatment near the treated area, confirm suitable timing with the relevant treating practitioners.
-
Before your next appointment, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
begin using a prescription topical product
develop a new medical condition
become pregnant
develop a skin infection, rash or wound
have a recent medical or cosmetic procedure
experience an unexpected reaction following treatment
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
intense or persistent burning
marked swelling
blistering
broken or weeping skin
extensive or unexpected crusting
severe or increasing pain
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or does not appear to be settling normally
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop difficulty breathing, marked facial or eye swelling, changes to your vision or another serious reaction.
-
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed, as these may be more restrictive than RF Skin Tightening aftercare alone.
Your therapist will advise you if additional precautions apply.
-
To support your skin and maintain your results:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin appropriately hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid unnecessary irritation
attend treatments and reviews at the frequency recommended
tell your therapist about changes to your health, medication or skin
follow the personalised treatment plan provided by your therapist
Your therapist will recommend future RF Skin Tightening treatments according to your skin condition, concerns, response and overall treat
Skin Needling Aftercare
Skin Needling creates controlled microchannels within the skin to stimulate the skin’s natural renewal response and support collagen production.
Temporary redness, warmth, tightness and sensitivity are expected while the skin barrier recovers. Following the aftercare below will help protect the treated skin and reduce the risk of unnecessary irritation or infection.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
red or flushed
warm or mildly sunburnt
tight
sensitive or tender
slightly swollen
dry
marked with pinpoint redness or tiny spots of blood
The intensity of these effects varies according to the treatment depth, area treated and your individual skin response.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking at the skin.
-
Leave the products applied by your therapist on the skin for the period you have been instructed.
Unless your therapist advises otherwise:
do not cleanse the treated area
do not apply makeup
do not apply additional skincare
do not touch the skin unnecessarily
do not exercise or sweat heavily
avoid excessive heat
keep the area clean and dry
sleep on a clean pillowcase
avoid allowing pets to touch or lick the treated area
If you must touch your face, wash and dry your hands thoroughly first.
Follow any specific instructions provided for the professional serum or finishing products used during your treatment.
-
When your therapist has advised that cleansing can begin:
Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
Use cool or lukewarm water.
Apply the recommended gentle cleanser using clean fingertips.
Do not use a face cloth, cleansing brush, sponge or exfoliating tool.
Rinse gently.
Pat the skin dry using a clean, soft towel.
Apply only the skincare recommended by your therapist.
Do not use hot water or scrub the skin.
-
Keep the skin clean, calm and protected.
Avoid:
touching or rubbing the treated area
picking at dryness, flaking or pinpoint crusts
makeup for at least 24 hours
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot baths and very hot showers
swimming pools, spas and chlorinated water
direct heat
fragranced or potentially irritating skincare
active skincare
shaving over irritated skin
waxing, threading and depilatory creams
deliberate sun exposure
introducing unfamiliar products
Use only:
the gentle cleanser recommended by your therapist
approved hydrating and barrier-supportive products
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+ once the skin can comfortably tolerate it
any products specifically prescribed for your recovery
-
During the initial healing period:
wash your hands before touching your face
use clean towels and face cloths
change your pillowcase
clean your phone screen
avoid sharing makeup, towels or skincare
keep makeup brushes and applicators clean
avoid touching the treated area unnecessarily
Do not use cleansing brushes, exfoliating cloths or facial devices until the skin has completely recovered.
-
Use only suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products recommended by your therapist.
If the skin feels dry or tight:
cleanse gently
apply your recommended moisturiser
avoid active products
do not exfoliate
do not pick or peel the skin
avoid adding unfamiliar oils, balms or masks
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if dryness, tightness or discomfort becomes difficult to manage.
-
Avoid strong or potentially irritating active products for approximately 5–7 days, or until your skin has completely settled.
This includes:
retinoids or retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed by your prescribing practitioner
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)
beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)
exfoliating acids
exfoliating enzymes
scrubs and physical exfoliants
cleansing brushes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
other resurfacing or highly active products
More intensive Skin Needling or reactive skin may require a longer break.
Do not restart active skincare simply because a set amount of time has passed if your skin remains:
red
warm
tight
dry
flaky
crusted
sensitive
uncomfortable
Gradually return to your normal skincare only when the skin has fully settled and according to your therapist’s instructions.
-
For approximately 24–48 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise
heavy sweating
saunas
steam rooms
hot baths
very hot showers
spas
swimming pools
chlorinated water
activities that create excessive facial heat
Normal gentle showering is fine, but avoid directing very hot water onto the treated area.
If warmth, redness or sensitivity continues, wait until the skin feels comfortable before returning to these activities.
-
Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours following Skin Needling.
Wait longer if the skin remains:
very red
warm
swollen
broken
weeping
significantly irritated
When makeup is resumed:
use clean hands, brushes, sponges and applicators
choose gentle, non-irritating products
avoid rubbing or heavy pressure
remove makeup carefully without scrubbing
Do not apply makeup over broken, weeping or crusted skin.
-
Recently needled skin can be particularly vulnerable to UV exposure.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ once your skin can comfortably tolerate it.
Also:
avoid prolonged direct sun exposure
wear a hat when outdoors
seek shade whenever possible
reapply sunscreen appropriately
do not deliberately tan
do not use solariums
Continue strict daily sun protection throughout your Skin Needling program.
Sun exposure during healing can increase inflammation and the risk of unwanted pigmentation changes.
-
As the skin renews, you may experience:
dryness
tightness
fine flaking
a rough or sandpaper-like texture
tiny pinpoint crusts
temporary darkening of existing pigmentation
Do not:
pull or peel flaking skin
scratch or pick
use scrubs
use exfoliating brushes or cloths
apply exfoliating acids or enzymes
steam the skin
attempt to make the skin shed more quickly
Allow all dryness, flaking and pinpoint crusting to release naturally.
Picking can increase the risk of irritation, infection, delayed healing, scarring and changes in pigmentation.
-
Temporary responses may include:
redness or flushing
warmth
tightness
tenderness
mild swelling
pinpoint redness
tiny spots of dried blood
dryness
light flaking
a rough texture
mild itching as the skin heals
temporary darkening of pigmentation
mild bruising in some areas
Redness often improves over the first one to three days. Dryness or light flaking may become more noticeable several days after treatment.
More intensive treatment may produce a stronger or longer-lasting response.
Expected reactions should gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Existing congestion may occasionally become more noticeable as the skin settles.
Do not:
squeeze or pick blemishes
apply strong spot treatments unless advised
scrub the area
introduce new acne products during healing
Continue gentle cleansing and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if breakouts are widespread, painful or accompanied by significant irritation.
-
A professional serum or exosome product may be applied during or after Skin Needling when appropriate.
Follow the specific instructions provided by your therapist.
Do not:
add other serums immediately
apply unapproved active products
wash the applied product off earlier than instructed
use home needling devices over the treated area
apply non-sterile products during the initial recovery period
The inclusion of a professional serum does not replace the need for gentle skincare, hygiene and sun protection.
-
LED Light Therapy may be used after Skin Needling to support the skin.
LED does not normally add further downtime. Continue following the Skin Needling aftercare because it is the more intensive treatment.
-
Avoid shaving until redness and sensitivity have settled and the skin’s surface feels comfortable.
Avoid the following over the treated area for at least 7 days, or until the skin has completely healed:
waxing
threading
epilation
depilatory creams
Dermaplaning
Do not shave over broken, crusted or significantly irritated skin.
-
Do not schedule another intensive facial treatment over the same area while the skin is healing.
This includes:
chemical peels
additional Skin Needling
laser
IPL
radiofrequency
HIFU
Dermaplaning
microdermabrasion
Hydrodermabrasion
intensive exfoliation
other resurfacing or heat-based procedures
Generally allow at least two weeks, but deeper Skin Needling or another intensive procedure may require a longer interval.
Your therapist will determine suitable timing according to:
the depth and intensity of treatment
your skin condition
your healing response
the treatment being planned
your overall treatment program
-
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
If you require pain relief after treatment or are unsure whether a medication is suitable, ask your pharmacist or medical practitioner for individual advice.
Tell Sibu Skin and Beauty before your next treatment if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
begin using a prescription topical product
develop a medical condition
become pregnant
develop a skin infection, rash or wound
experience delayed healing
experience an unexpected reaction
-
Skin Needling around the mouth may trigger a cold-sore outbreak in people with a history of herpes simplex.
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty and seek advice from your pharmacist or medical practitioner promptly if you notice:
tingling around the lips
burning
clustered blisters
symptoms consistent with a developing cold sore
Do not pick the area or attend another skin treatment while an active cold sore is present.
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
redness that is significant or worsening
increasing pain
persistent heat or burning
marked or worsening swelling
blistering
broken or weeping skin
extensive crusting
pus or discharge
a widespread or persistent rash
unusual darkening or lightening of the skin
cold-sore symptoms
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you or is not progressively settling
Your therapist may ask you to provide clear photographs or attend the salon so the skin can be assessed.
Seek urgent medical attention for severe pain, rapidly spreading redness, marked facial or eye swelling, difficulty breathing, changes to your vision, fever or another serious reaction.
-
If another treatment was performed at the same appointment, follow the aftercare instructions for the most intensive treatment performed.
Your therapist will advise you if additional or more restrictive precautions apply.
-
To help protect your skin and support your treatment program:
follow your recommended homecare routine
keep the skin appropriately hydrated
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day
avoid picking, scratching or unnecessary exfoliation
do not use home needling devices between appointments
attend treatments and reviews at the recommended frequency
tell your therapist about changes to your skin, medication or health
follow any specific instructions provided for the treatment depth and products used
Skin Needling results develop gradually as the skin renews and collagen remodelling occurs. Your therapist will recommend future appointments according to your skin condition, treatment goals, recovery and overall treatment plan.
Signature Skin Treatment Aftercare
Sibu Signature Skin Treatments and the Sibu Ritual are customised according to your skin condition, concerns and treatment goals.
Your treatment may include cleansing, exfoliation, massage, masks, hydration, extractions, enzymes, LED Light Therapy or another suitable enhancement.
Because each treatment is personalised, follow any additional instructions provided by your therapist.
-
Your skin may appear or feel:
smoother
refreshed and hydrated
slightly pink
mildly warm
temporarily sensitive
tender around extracted areas
relaxed following facial massage
These effects should generally settle quickly.
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching, squeezing or picking at the skin.
-
Keep your skincare gentle and consistent.
Avoid:
unnecessary touching
picking or squeezing congestion
scrubs and exfoliating tools
strong active skincare if the skin feels sensitive
waxing and depilatory creams
excessive heat and heavy sweating
introducing unfamiliar products
deliberate sun exposure
Use:
a gentle cleanser
recommended serums or soothing products
an appropriate moisturiser
broad-spectrum SPF 50+
-
Cleanse using lukewarm water and clean fingertips.
Avoid aggressive cleansing, hot water, brushes and exfoliating cloths if the skin feels sensitive.
Continue with suitable hydrating and barrier-supportive products.
Do not over-exfoliate in an attempt to maintain the smooth feeling after treatment.
-
If the treatment included only gentle products and your skin feels comfortable, your usual skincare may generally be resumed as advised.
If the treatment included stronger exfoliation, enzymes, extractions or an active enhancement, avoid irritating products for approximately 24–72 hours or as directed.
These may include:
retinoids
AHAs and BHAs
exfoliating acids
scrubs
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
prescription topical products
Follow the more restrictive aftercare if an advanced enhancement was included.
-
Areas where extractions were performed may temporarily appear:
pink or red
tender
slightly raised
more noticeable
Do not squeeze or pick these areas.
Avoid applying strong spot treatments immediately after extraction unless advised.
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if an extracted area becomes increasingly painful, swollen or develops signs of infection.
-
If an enzyme treatment was included:
avoid further exfoliation for several days
use gentle skincare
avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids
use SPF 50+
allow dryness or light flaking to release naturally
Do not scrub or pick at the skin.
-
Temporary relaxation, warmth or awareness of muscular tension may occur after facial massage.
Avoid vigorous home massage or facial tools if the area feels tender.
Resume gua sha or other facial massage when the skin feels comfortable and no more intensive treatment requires a longer restriction.
-
LED Light Therapy normally requires no additional downtime.
Continue following the aftercare for the other treatment components performed.
-
Makeup can generally be applied when the skin feels comfortable.
Where possible, leave the skin clean and makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
Use clean brushes and applicators and avoid makeup over broken or irritated areas.
-
If the skin feels warm or sensitive, avoid for approximately 24 hours:
strenuous exercise
saunas
steam rooms
hot showers
swimming pools
spas
Resume normal activities when your skin feels comfortable.
-
Use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day.
Avoid deliberate tanning and prolonged direct sun exposure, particularly if exfoliation or an active enhancement was included.
-
If your treatment included Dermaplaning, an advanced peel, NanoInfusion, Skin Needling, IPL or another advanced service, follow the dedicated aftercare for the most intensive treatment performed.
That aftercare replaces the general Signature Skin Treatment guidance where it is more restrictive.
-
Temporary effects may include:
mild redness
warmth
temporary tightness
slight sensitivity
tenderness around extractions
minor dryness or flaking
increased awareness of existing congestion
These effects should remain mild and settle progressively.

Spray Tanning Aftercare
Your spray tan continues developing after your appointment. Following the correct aftercare during the development period will help prevent streaking, patchiness and premature fading.
Your therapist will tell you how long to leave your specific tanning solution on before showering. Follow that timing rather than using a standard timeframe.
-
Your skin may feel:
slightly tacky
lightly fragranced
temporarily darker because of the cosmetic guide colour
dry in some areas
This is normal while the tan develops.
Wear loose, dark clothing and open or loose-fitting footwear where practical.
Avoid tight waistbands, bras, socks, enclosed shoes and other clothing that may rub against the developing tan.
-
Until your instructed shower time, avoid:
showering or bathing
swimming
exercise and sweating
saunas and steam rooms
rain and water
washing your hands unnecessarily
applying moisturiser, oil, makeup, deodorant or perfume
touching or rubbing the skin
crossing your legs for extended periods
wearing tight clothing or footwear
activities that create friction
If water contacts the skin, gently blot it rather than rubbing.
Do not attempt to blend, wipe or correct the developing tan yourself.
-
Avoid washing your hands during the development period where practical.
If handwashing is necessary:
wash only the palms
avoid water running over the backs of the hands and wrists
pat the palms dry carefully
do not rub the developing tan
Take care around rings, watches and bracelets, as these may trap water or create marks.
-
Shower at the exact time recommended by your therapist.
During your first shower:
use lukewarm water
avoid very hot water
do not scrub
do not exfoliate
avoid body brushes, loofahs and exfoliating gloves
avoid soaking in a bath
allow the cosmetic guide colour to rinse away gently
The water may appear brown as the guide colour rinses away. This is expected and does not mean your entire tan is washing off.
Continue rinsing until the water runs clear, then pat the skin dry gently using a clean towel.
Do not rub the skin.
-
Once the skin is dry, apply a suitable moisturiser.
The tan may continue developing after the guide colour has been rinsed away, so the final colour may not be visible immediately.
Avoid assessing or attempting to alter the result until the tan has completed its development period.
-
Moisturise every day to help maintain an even-looking tan.
Pay particular attention to areas that become dry, including:
hands
feet
elbows
knees
ankles
Use a gentle moisturiser and apply it without aggressive rubbing.
Very heavy oils, strong active body products and frequent exfoliation may cause the tan to fade more quickly or unevenly.
-
To help prolong your tan:
use lukewarm rather than very hot water
keep showers reasonably brief
use a gentle body cleanser
avoid scrubbing
avoid exfoliating gloves, loofahs and body brushes
pat the skin dry
moisturise after showering
Long baths and repeated hot showers can cause the tan to fade more quickly.
-
After the first shower, normal activities can generally be resumed.
Be aware that:
heavy sweating may cause uneven fading
chlorinated pools may fade the tan more quickly
salt water may dry the skin
saunas and steam rooms may shorten the life of the tan
tight exercise clothing may create friction
repeated towel drying may remove colour unevenly
Rinse the skin after swimming and apply moisturiser once the skin is dry.
-
Shaving can exfoliate the skin and cause the tan to fade more quickly.
If shaving after your tan:
wait until after the first development shower
use a clean, sharp razor
use a gentle shaving product
apply minimal pressure
moisturise afterwards
Avoid waxing, epilation and depilatory creams while you wish to maintain the tan, as these can remove the colour unevenly.
Complete these treatments at least 24 hours before your next spray-tan appointment.
-
Products that exfoliate or accelerate skin renewal may fade the tan more quickly.
These include:
retinoids or retinol
alpha hydroxy acids
beta hydroxy acids
exfoliating acids
scrubs
exfoliating enzymes
benzoyl peroxide
strong acne products
some facial and body resurfacing products
Continue any medically prescribed skincare as directed by your prescribing practitioner. Be aware that the tan may fade more quickly or unevenly in those areas.
-
The tan may fade sooner from areas exposed to:
frequent handwashing
sanitiser
enclosed shoes
tight clothing
friction
cleaning products
regular shaving
Wear gloves when cleaning and moisturise regularly to help reduce uneven fading.
Do not scrub darker or uneven areas immediately after development, as this can make the result patchier.
-
The cosmetic guide colour can make the tan appear darker than the final result.
Do not panic or shower earlier unless instructed by your therapist.
The guide colour will rinse away during your first shower, leaving the developed tan underneath.
-
Do not aggressively scrub or exfoliate the skin.
Allow the tan to finish developing before assessing the result.
If you notice significant streaking, missed areas or uneven development, contact Sibu Skin and Beauty for advice before attempting to correct it.
-
A spray tan does not protect your skin from UV exposure.
Continue using broad-spectrum SPF 50+ and take normal sun-protection precautions, including:
avoiding prolonged direct sun exposure
wearing protective clothing and a hat
seeking shade
reapplying sunscreen appropriately
avoiding deliberate tanning and solariums
Your skin can still burn while wearing a spray tan.
-
During development:
wear loose, dark clothing
avoid tight straps, waistbands and enclosed footwear
be aware that guide colour may transfer onto clothing or bedding
avoid delicate or light-coloured fabrics
Most cosmetic guide colour should wash out of washable fabrics, but staining cannot be ruled out.
-
Normal experiences may include:
temporary tackiness
a cosmetic tanning fragrance
guide colour transferring onto clothing or bedding
brown-coloured water during the first shower
the tan continuing to develop after showering
gradual and slightly uneven fading in high-wear areas
A spray tan should not cause persistent burning, significant itching, swelling or blistering.
-
Stop using any tanning maintenance product and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
persistent redness
significant itching
burning
swelling
blistering
a widespread or persistent rash
another reaction that concerns you
Seek urgent medical attention if you experience difficulty breathing, marked facial swelling or other symptoms of a severe allergic reaction.
-
Before your next appointment:
allow the previous tan to fade
gently remove remaining uneven colour
exfoliate in advance rather than immediately before the appointment
complete shaving or hair removal beforehand
arrive with clean, dry skin
avoid wearing moisturiser, oil, deodorant, perfume or makeup unless otherwise instructed
Do not aggressively exfoliate irritated, broken or sunburnt skin.
-
To help maintain an even result:
wait until the instructed time before showering
moisturise every day
avoid aggressive exfoliation
use gentle cleansing products
avoid prolonged hot baths and showers
pat the skin dry
minimise activities that cause excessive friction
continue using broad-spectrum SPF 50+
Your tan will gradually fade as the outermost skin cells naturally shed. Longevity varies according to your skin, preparation, bathing, skincare, exercise and lifestyle.
Tattoo Removal Aftercare
Laser Tattoo Removal uses controlled laser energy to break tattoo pigment into smaller particles that the body can gradually process.
The treated area will require time to heal after each session. Redness, swelling, tenderness, whitening of the tattoo and some blistering or crusting can occur as part of the expected treatment response.
Following the aftercare below will help protect the area and reduce the risk of infection, scarring and unwanted changes in pigmentation.
-
The treated area may appear or feel:
white or frosted
red
warm
swollen
tender
mildly sunburnt
raised
bruised
marked with small pinpoint spots of blood
Temporary whitening or frosting may appear immediately after treatment and usually settles relatively quickly.
Swelling and redness may become more noticeable during the first several hours.
-
A dressing may be applied following treatment.
Keep the dressing in place for the period recommended by your therapist.
When removing or replacing it:
Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
Remove the dressing gently.
Clean the area according to your therapist’s instructions.
Pat it dry using clean disposable gauze or a clean, soft towel.
Apply only the aftercare product recommended by your therapist.
Cover it again only if instructed or if protection from clothing and contamination is required.
Do not apply adhesive directly over blistered, broken or irritated skin.
-
A clean, cool compress may be used for short periods to reduce warmth, swelling and discomfort.
Do not:
apply ice directly to the skin
use frozen packs without wrapping them
leave a cold pack in place for prolonged periods
apply excessive pressure
rub or massage the treated area
Keep any compress or covering clean.
-
Keep the area clean, cool and protected.
Avoid:
touching the area with unwashed hands
rubbing, scratching or picking
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
saunas and steam rooms
hot baths and very hot showers
swimming pools and spas
tight clothing or friction over the area
fragranced products
deodorant if an underarm area was treated
makeup over treated facial skin
active skincare
shaving over irritated or broken skin
alcohol if it worsens flushing or swelling
direct sun exposure
Normal gentle showering is fine unless your therapist has provided different instructions.
-
When cleansing the area:
wash your hands first
use cool or lukewarm water
use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser if required
avoid scrubbing
rinse carefully
pat the area dry
use a clean towel or disposable gauze
Do not use:
exfoliating cloths
body brushes
loofahs
cleansing devices
harsh soaps
fragranced washes
alcohol-based products
hydrogen peroxide
strong antiseptics unless medically directed
Over-cleaning can irritate the skin and delay healing.
-
Blistering can occur following Laser Tattoo Removal and does not automatically mean that the skin has been permanently damaged.
If blisters develop:
do not pop or deliberately drain them
do not peel away the blistered skin
keep the area clean
protect it from rubbing and contamination
apply only the aftercare product recommended
cover it with a suitable non-stick dressing if advised
contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if the blister is large, painful or concerning
The skin covering a blister provides natural protection while the area heals.
If a blister breaks by itself, do not remove the remaining skin. Clean and protect the area and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty for advice.
-
Crusting or scabbing may develop as the area heals.
Do not:
scratch or pick
peel away crusts
exfoliate
shave directly over the area
apply adhesive over the crust
attempt to make it heal more quickly
Allow all crusting and scabbing to release naturally.
Picking can increase the risk of infection, scarring and changes in skin colour.
-
Use only the soothing, protective or wound-care product recommended by your therapist.
Avoid applying:
fragranced lotions
essential oils
active skincare
exfoliating products
thick or heavily occlusive products unless advised
home remedies
topical antibiotics unless recommended by a pharmacist or medical practitioner
If a recommended product causes increasing redness, itching, burning or a rash, stop using it and contact Sibu Skin and Beauty.
-
For at least 24–48 hours, avoid:
strenuous exercise
heavy sweating
saunas
steam rooms
hot baths
very hot showers
spas
swimming pools
ocean swimming
activities that create excessive heat or friction
Avoid swimming and soaking the area until any blisters, crusts or broken skin have completely healed.
Normal gentle showering is generally appropriate. Pat the area dry rather than rubbing it.
-
Wear clean, loose clothing over the treated area.
Avoid:
tight waistbands
tight sleeves
rubbing from shoes or straps
rough or scratchy fabrics
compression garments unless medically required
activities that repeatedly rub the treatment site
If the tattoo is in an area exposed to friction, use a suitable non-stick dressing if advised by your therapist.
-
Protecting the treated area from UV exposure is essential.
While the skin is healing:
keep the area covered with loose clothing where practical
avoid direct sun exposure
do not deliberately tan
do not use solariums
do not apply sunscreen over open, blistered or weeping skin
Once the skin’s surface is intact and can comfortably tolerate sunscreen:
apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+
reapply appropriately when outdoors
continue using protective clothing
minimise prolonged direct sun exposure
Tell your therapist before your next appointment if the treatment area has become tanned or has had significant sun exposure.
-
Avoid potentially irritating products over the treated area until it has completely healed.
This includes:
retinoids or retinol
alpha hydroxy acids
beta hydroxy acids
exfoliating acids
scrubs
exfoliating enzymes
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
fragranced lotions
fake tan
depilatory creams
Do not restart these products while the area remains red, swollen, blistered, crusted, broken or sensitive.
-
Do not shave over skin that is blistered, crusted, broken or irritated.
Once the area has completely healed, shaving may be resumed carefully.
Avoid:
waxing
threading
epilation
depilatory creams
until the skin has completely recovered.
-
Temporary effects may include:
whitening or frosting
redness
warmth
swelling
tenderness
bruising
itching during healing
blistering
crusting or scabbing
temporary darkening of the tattoo
temporary darkening or light of the surrounding skin
temporary fading or changes in individual tattoo colours
Swelling may be more noticeable in certain areas, including hands, feet and around the eyes.
Expected reactions should gradually improve rather than become progressively worse.
-
Mild itching can occur as the area heals.
Do not scratch.
Instead:
use a clean, cool compress
keep the area moisturised with the recommended product
avoid heat
wear loose clothing
contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if the itching is severe or accompanied by a spreading rash
-
Some tattoo pigments may temporarily darken or change colour following treatment.
The tattoo may also look uneven as different pigments and areas respond at different rates.
Do not attempt to treat or exfoliate the darkened area yourself.
Your therapist will assess the response before further treatment.
-
Elevation may help reduce swelling when a tattoo has been treated on an arm, hand, leg or foot.
Avoid tight jewellery, shoes or clothing around the treated area.
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if swelling is severe, worsening or affecting normal movement or circulation.
Seek prompt medical advice if the area becomes increasingly painful, numb, unusually pale, blue or cold.
-
Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the practitioner who prescribed it.
If you require pain relief or are unsure whether a medication is appropriate, speak with your pharmacist or medical practitioner.
Before your next treatment, tell your therapist if you:
begin a new medication or supplement
develop a new medical condition
become pregnant
experience delayed healing
develop an infection, rash or wound
have significant sun exposure
experience an unexpected reaction following treatment
-
Please contact Sibu Skin and Beauty promptly if you experience:
severe or increasing pain
redness that continues spreading
increasing heat or swelling
very large or painful blisters
blistering extending significantly beyond the treated tattoo
yellow or green discharge
an unpleasant odour
extensive or unexpected crusting
persistent bleeding
a widespread rash
marked darkening or lightening of the surrounding skin
delayed healing
signs of infection
any reaction that concerns you
Your therapist may ask you to provide clear photographs or attend the salon so the area can be assessed.
-
Seek prompt medical care if you experience:
rapidly spreading redness
severe or escalating pain
significant swelling
pus or discharge
fever or feeling systemically unwell
red streaking extending from the area
extensive blistering or skin breakdown
symptoms of a serious allergic reaction
another severe or rapidly worsening response
Call emergency services if you develop difficulty breathing, marked facial swelling, fainting or another medical emergency.
-
Do not perform another laser, IPL, peel, skin-needling or intensive treatment over the area until it has completely healed.
The timing of your next Laser Tattoo Removal session will be determined by:
the tattoo and pigment treated
the treatment area
your skin response
the degree of fading
your healing
your therapist’s assessment
Do not repeat treatment simply because the skin’s surface looks healed. The body requires adequate time to process pigment and recover between sessions.
-
Tattoo fading occurs gradually over the weeks following treatment.
The tattoo may:
initially look darker or brighter
fade unevenly
respond differently across colours
continue changing after the skin appears healed
require multiple treatment sessions
Complete removal cannot be guaranteed.
Results vary according to:
tattoo colour and pigment composition
pigment depth and density
whether the tattoo is professional or amateur
the tattoo’s age and location
previous tattoo treatments
your skin response
your general health and circulation
treatment consistency
-
To support safe healing between appointments:
keep the area clean
do not pick blisters, crusts or scabs
minimise heat and friction
protect the area from sun exposure
use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ once the skin is intact
avoid removing healing skin
attend review and treatment appointments as recommended
tell your therapist about health or medication changes
contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you are uncertain about the healing response
Always follow any individual instructions given by your therapist, as these take into account the tattoo, treatment settings, skin response and area treated.
Waxing Aftercare
Waxing removes hair from the root and temporarily exfoliates the surface of the skin. Redness, warmth, tenderness and small raised follicular bumps may occur after treatment.
Careful aftercare will help reduce irritation, folliculitis and ingrown hairs.
-
The treated area may appear or feel:
pink or red
warm
tender
mildly itchy
slightly swollen around individual follicles
smoother and more sensitive
These effects should begin settling within several hours, although sensitive skin or larger treatment areas may take longer.
Avoid rubbing, scratching, touching or applying pressure.
-
Avoid:
hot showers and baths
saunas and steam rooms
spas and swimming pools
strenuous exercise and heavy sweating
sun exposure and tanning
tight clothing
fragranced lotions
deodorant over freshly waxed underarms
fake tan
makeup over freshly waxed facial skin
sexual activity if it creates heat or friction over an intimate wax
exfoliating products
scrubs and body brushes
active skincare
picking or scratching
Normal gentle showering is fine. Use lukewarm water and pat the skin dry.
-
If the area feels warm, use a clean, cool compress for short periods.
Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
Use only gentle, soothing products recommended by your therapist.
Avoid thick, fragranced or heavily occlusive products if they trap heat or irritate the area.
-
Avoid potentially irritating active skincare over a freshly waxed facial area for approximately 3–5 days, or until the skin has settled.
This includes:
retinoids and retinol
prescription topical retinoids unless otherwise directed
AHAs and BHAs
exfoliating acids
benzoyl peroxide
strong vitamin C
scrubs
exfoliating enzymes
cleansing brushes
Do not apply active skincare to lifted, broken or highly irritated skin.
-
Where possible, leave freshly waxed facial skin makeup-free for the remainder of the day.
If makeup is necessary:
wait until heat and redness have reduced
use clean hands and applicators
choose gentle products
remove makeup carefully
Do not apply makeup over broken or significantly irritated skin.
-
Freshly waxed skin can be more vulnerable to sun irritation.
Use broad-spectrum SPF 50+ on exposed areas once the skin can comfortably tolerate it.
Also:
avoid prolonged sun exposure
wear protective clothing
seek shade
avoid deliberate tanning and solariums
Do not apply fake tan until redness and sensitivity have completely resolved.
-
For approximately 24–48 hours after intimate waxing, avoid:
tight underwear or clothing
heavy exercise
cycling if it creates friction
swimming and spas
saunas and steam rooms
sexual activity that creates heat or friction
fragranced products
harsh cleansing
exfoliation
Wear clean, breathable clothing and keep the area gently cleansed and dry.
-
Following underarm waxing:
avoid deodorant until the skin has settled
avoid fragranced body spray
avoid heavy sweating
avoid tight clothing
keep the area clean and dry
If deodorant stings, rinse it away and wait longer before reapplying.
-
Do not exfoliate immediately after waxing.
Once the skin has completely settled, generally after 48–72 hours, gentle exfoliation may be introduced if suitable for your skin.
Avoid:
aggressive scrubbing
daily harsh exfoliation
picking ingrown hairs
using sharp implements
applying strong products to inflamed skin
Use any ingrown-hair product according to your therapist’s instructions.
If an ingrown hair becomes very painful, swollen or infected, seek professional advice.
-
Hair will gradually regrow between appointments.
Avoid shaving if you want to maintain a consistent waxing cycle, although shaving is not medically harmful once the skin has settled.
Do not tweeze large areas between appointments, as this may disrupt the growth pattern available for your next wax.
-
Temporary effects may include:
redness
warmth
mild tenderness
small follicular bumps
mild itching
increased skin sensitivity
These responses should gradually improve.
Persistent pain, blistering, skin lifting or worsening redness is not considered a routine response.
-
If a small area of skin has lifted:
do not apply active skincare
do not exfoliate
avoid makeup
keep the area clean
use only recommended protective products
protect it from sun exposure
contact Sibu Skin and Beauty
Do not pick at peeling or crusted skin.
-
Contact Sibu Skin and Beauty if you experience:
significant or worsening redness
persistent burning
skin lifting
blistering
marked swelling
increasing pain
widespread or persistent follicular bumps
pus or discharge
signs of infection
a reaction that concerns you
Seek medical advice for rapidly spreading redness, severe pain, significant swelling, fever or another serious reaction.
-
keep the skin moisturised
introduce gentle exfoliation only after the skin has settled
avoid picking ingrown hairs
use sun protection
avoid harsh or excessive exfoliation
follow any recommended ingrown-hair routine
allow sufficient regrowth before your next appointment
tell your therapist about new medications, topical products or skin changes
If another treatment was performed over the same area, follow whichever aftercare instructions are more restrictive.
