  • Your consultation is more than a chat, it is a professional skin assessment. You’re paying for your therapist’s time, expertise and a detailed personalised plan.

    It ensures your treatment is safe, effective and tailored to your goals.

  • You will receive a full skin assessment, professional recommendations, a treatment pathway and home care guidance.

    It’s your chance to ask questions and understand exactly how we’ll support your skin journey.

  • Yes. Your consultation fee can be redeemed towards your first treatment when you sign up for a Skin Membership within 24 hours of your consultation.

  • Test patches are essential for safety — especially with advanced treatments like MelanoPro. If your skin reacts, it means the peel wouldn’t have been safe for you.

    The patch cost reflects your therapist’s time, professional expertise, product use and home care products provided, and helps prevent a much higher risk of a full treatment reaction.

    If the reaction is confirmed as a true product-related skin reaction following professional assessment, the test patch cost will be refunded. If the reaction is due to incorrect preparation or aftercare not being followed, the fee is not refundable.

  • No. You don’t need to book a separate consultation prior to your appointment, as a consultation is completed at the start of every treatment.

    For advanced treatments such as IPL and laser or MelanoPro, a consultation and test patch are required, and treatment will be performed at a future appointment (minimum 24 hours later) to ensure safety.

    For other treatments, your therapist will assess your skin on the day and proceed where appropriate.

  • Your therapist will review your skin history, current concerns and lifestyle.

    We’ll assess your skin in-salon, answer your questions and outline a personalised plan for treatments and home care.

  • Most consultations run for approximately 15 - 30 minutes, giving us time to assess, educate and map out your skin treatment plan.

  • Absolutely. Consultations are designed for everyone. Your therapist will guide you through safe options and ensure you feel informed and confident before beginning treatment.

  • We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

    Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a fee in line with our Terms and Conditions.

  • Yes, some treatments and new client bookings require a deposit or card capture to secure your appointment.

    This allows us to manage our schedule and protect therapist time.

  • If you arrive late, your treatment time may be reduced to avoid impacting other clients.

  • The Signature Treatment is a fully customised facial designed around your skin’s needs on the day. While booked within a set treatment time, the focus is on achieving the best possible result for your skin.

  • Many of our core treatments can be incorporated within the Signature, including LED, Hydrabrasion, Advanced Resurfacing, Dermaplaning, Lymphatic Enzyme Therapy and professional resurfacing.

    Your therapist will recommend the most suitable approach based on your skin.

  • Signature treatments are booked within a set treatment time, typically around 50–60 minutes.

    This allows your therapist to customise each step while keeping your experience relaxing and results-focused.

  • For best results, we recommend booking every 4 weeks to maintain skin health, hydration and overall skin quality. Your therapist may adjust timing based on your skin concerns and treatment plan.

  • The Signature is suitable for most clients, however treatment may be delayed if you have active infection, recent sunburn or are using certain prescription skincare.

  • Most clients experience redness for 24–48 hours following treatment. Skin recovery typically occurs within a few days, and makeup can usually be worn after 24 hours.

Tanning FAQs - Canberra

  • Spray tanning is a professional treatment where a fine mist is applied to the skin to create a natural-looking tan without sun exposure.

  • Most spray tans last between 5–10 days depending on your skin type, preparation and aftercare.

  • You should exfoliate your skin prior to your appointment and avoid applying moisturiser, deodorant or perfume on the day of your treatment.

  • Your therapist will advise your rinse time, typically between 2–8 hours depending on the solution used and your desired depth of colour.

  • Yes. Your tan will continue to develop after your appointment and will reach its full colour after your first rinse.

  • Yes, only after your recommended development time. Use lukewarm water for your first rinse and avoid soaps or scrubs.

  • Keep your skin hydrated, avoid long hot showers, swimming and exfoliation, and gently pat your skin dry after showering.

  • No. When applied professionally and matched to your skin tone, spray tans develop into a natural-looking colour.

  • Yes. It is recommended to have your spray tan 1–2 days before your event for best results.

  • Spray tanning may not be suitable for certain skin conditions or sensitivities. Your therapist will advise if needed.

  • Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin and create an even base. Avoid exfoliating on the day of your tan.

  • Shave or wax at least 24 hours prior. Exfoliate the day before and arrive with clean, dry skin free from moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or makeup.

  • No. Do not apply body cream, oils or deodorant before your appointment as this can create a barrier and affect the development of your tan.

  • Your skin may be more sensitive, which can affect how the tan develops. If possible, allow at least 24 hours before your spray tan. If you’ve done it on the same day, let your therapist know so they can adjust your treatment if needed.

  • Wear loose, dark clothing and avoid anything tight that may rub on the skin. After your appointment, continue wearing loose clothing and avoid bras or tight waistbands where possible until your first rinse.

Nails FAQs - Canberra

  • Standard polish such as CND Vinylux is designed to last up to 7 days with proper care. Longevity can vary depending on lifestyle, nail condition and aftercare.

  • CND Shellac is designed to last up to 14 days with a high-shine, chip-resistant finish when applied and maintained correctly.

  • Bio Sculpture gel can last 2–3 weeks depending on nail growth, lifestyle and maintenance. It is designed to support natural nail strength and durability.

  • Basic nail art includes simple accents completed within your booked service. More detailed designs such as French or custom nail art require additional time and are priced accordingly.

  • How much time should I allow for nail art
    Basic nail art should fit within your booked service time. French finishes require additional time and should be selected as an add-on when booking. For more detailed or custom nail art, additional time may be required — please share your inspiration ahead of your appointment so we can prepare and book correctly.

  • Yes. Professional removal is recommended to protect the natural nail and prevent damage such as peeling or weakening.

  • In most cases, nail damage is not caused by the product itself, but by how it is removed. Bio Sculpture is designed to support and protect the natural nail when applied and removed correctly. Damage can occur if the gel is peeled, picked or over-filed during removal. At Sibu Skin and Beauty, we use professional removal techniques to protect the natural nail and maintain nail health.

  • Removal of existing product from other salons may require additional time and care. Should additional time be required, additional costs may apply to ensure safe and thorough removal without damaging the natural nail. Please let us know when booking so we can allow enough time for your appointment.

  • You’re welcome to ask on the day and we’ll always do our best to accommodate. For simple nail art, this can often be added within your booked time. For French finishes or more detailed designs, additional time is usually required. If you have a specific design in mind, we recommend sharing this ahead of your appointment so we can prepare and book the appropriate time.

IPL Hair Removal FAQ – Canberra

  • IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Hair Removal is a treatment that uses light energy to target the pigment in the hair follicle, helping to reduce hair growth over time.

  • IPL Hair Removal can be performed on most areas of the body including face, underarms, arms, legs, bikini and Brazilian.

Electrolysis

  • Yes. Electrolysis is the only method of permanent hair removal. Once a hair follicle has been successfully treated, it will no longer produce hair.

    Multiple treatments are required to achieve full results.

  • A series of treatments is required, as hair grows in cycles and only actively growing hairs can be treated effectively. The number of sessions varies depending on the area, hair type and growth patterns. Your therapist will recommend a personalised treatment plan based on your goals.

  • Most clients describe electrolysis as a mild heat or tingling sensation. Treatment comfort is monitored closely and adjusted as needed throughout your session.

  • Electrolysis is ideal for small or precise areas such as the face, including the chin, upper lip, jawline and brows. It can also be used on other areas of the body where targeted hair removal is required.

  • Yes. Electrolysis is suitable for all hair colours, including blonde, red, grey and fine hair that cannot be treated with laser or IPL.

  • Temporary redness or sensitivity may occur after treatment and usually settles within a few hours. In some cases, minor swelling or bruising can occur, particularly in more sensitive areas. Your therapist will provide aftercare guidance to support healing and minimise any reactions.
