Amanda - Expert Skin Therapist, Senior Therapist and Owner of Sibu Skin and Beauty

Hi, I’m Amanda, the proud owner of Sibu Skin & Beauty. My journey in the beauty industry began from a passion for helping others feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. Having faced my own challenges with self-image and mental health, I understand the importance of nurturing self-esteem and embracing yourself as you are.

As a Dermalogica Skin Expert with studies in Dermal Therapies, I’m dedicated to providing high-quality skincare and beauty services while staying true to my core values: honesty, trust, and authenticity. I’ve built an incredible team who share these values, and together we strive to ensure every client leaves feeling empowered, confident, and like their best self.

While I may be the face behind Sibu Skin & Beauty, it’s our team that brings the vision to life. Whether you’re seeing me or one of our talented therapists, we’re all here to provide a personal experience that supports your journey to glowing, healthy skin.

Linda Senior Therapist and Skin expert - (Currently on maternity leave)

Linda is our long standing Crace therapist who has been with us for almost 7 years. 

Becoming a qualified therapist all the way back in 2011 after 7 years as a dance teacher and being in the performing arts industry,  she is 11 years in the beauty industry and her career has grown enormously. Linda spent some time as our Sibu Salon manager and recently taking a step back to attend to the demands of raising her 2 children.  She likes the variety Sibu has to offer, but does have a love of skin treatments and is excited to be performing all the new and advanced treatments. She loves making clients feel good about themselves, helping them achieve their goals, getting to know them and what they like. She is always thriving for perfection! 

Linda is working part time between both salons while she juggles work/mum life.

Lucy- Salon Manager and Senior Beauty Therapist

Lucy’s passion for beauty began with makeup and her own experiences of how skin can affect confidence. In February 2022, she officially stepped into the industry, completing her Diploma and starting her career as a Beauty Therapist. Since then, she has loved the variety her work brings—from quick waxing and nail care to indulgent facials and massages.

While she enjoys a wide range of treatments, Lucy has a particular love for skincare, biosculpture nails, and the precision of brow shaping. She leans towards advanced skin treatments such as dermaplaning and peels for her clients, and personally enjoys needling and hydrodermabrasion for her own skin health.

Inspired daily by Sibu’s owner Amanda, as well as industry leader Gena Salerno—renowned for her brow artistry and entrepreneurial spirit—Lucy continues to refine her skills and grow as a therapist. Her proudest achievement so far has been completing her Diploma, a milestone that turned her passion into a rewarding career.

Outside of the salon, Lucy loves good food, shopping, and quality time with family and friends. Looking ahead, her dreams include opening her own beauty business and expanding into advanced treatments such as Ombre brows. She also hopes to move overseas in the future, combining her career with the opportunity to travel, grow, and gain overseas experience.

Cassie - Senior Beauty Therapist

Cassie discovered her passion for beauty therapy at just 15, inspired by her love of makeup. In 2020, she officially began her professional journey, completing her beauty diploma and diving into a variety of treatments—from quick waxing and nail care to indulgent facials and massages.

While she enjoys a wide range of treatments, Cassie’s favourites are pedicures and LED facials. She loves helping clients feel pampered and confident, and is always looking to refine her skills and learn new techniques.

Cassie finds inspiration in her mother’s dedication to learning and growth, which motivates her in both her personal and professional life. Completing her beauty diploma remains her proudest achievement to date.

Outside of the salon, Cassie loves burritos, shopping, and spending quality time with her mum—her favourite person. A self-described introvert with a soft spot for pets, she dreams of traveling the world and one day opening her own beauty salon. When she wants to unwind, you’ll often find her at the beach, her absolute favourite place.

Maria - Beauty Therapist

Maria has always had a passion for beauty—it’s fascinated her for as long as she can remember, so pursuing a career in the industry felt like a natural step. After completing her beauty diploma, she began her journey at Sibu Skin & Beauty, where she has been able to turn that passion into a career she truly loves.

Maria finds it incredibly rewarding to enhance someone’s natural beauty and see the confidence it gives them. Her favourite treatments to perform (and receive!) are lash lifts and brow shaping—simple yet transformative treatments that instantly elevate a look.

She draws inspiration from industry leaders like Lana Lashes, whose skill and entrepreneurial spirit motivate her to keep growing. One of Maria’s proudest achievements so far has been completing her diploma and stepping into the professional beauty world. She’s excited to continue developing her expertise, particularly in advanced lash, brow, and skin treatments.

Outside the salon, Maria loves good food, time with friends and family, and unwinding with music or at the gym. Looking ahead, her dream is to one day open her own salon—a welcoming space where beauty, confidence, and care come together.

Sasha - Tattoo removal specialist

Sasha is a born-and-bred Canberran who, while spending most of his working life in the public service, discovered a passion for laser tattoo removal and became a specialist in 2017. As a collector himself, he has a deep appreciation for tattoos and continues to build his own collection.

Beyond his work, Sasha enjoys caring for his bonsai collection—over 200 little trees—and spending time with his two Dachshunds.

Sasha has been married to our salon owner, Amanda, for 18 years. Reflecting on his work at Sibu, he says, “The best part of working at Sibu is that I get to work with my beautiful wife Amanda.”

Sibu Skin & Beauty is a full-service salon specialising in advanced skin treatments, beauty services, and relaxation therapies. Our menu includes facials, advanced skin therapies (IPL, laser, HIFU, HydraFacial, peels), massage, nails, waxing, tinting, brows, spray tanning, and body sculpting treatments.

We have three Canberra locations:

You can easily book online, give us a call, or visit your nearest salon in person.

What are your opening hours?
We are open Tuesday to Saturday. Hours vary slightly by location and season, so please check online or call us for current times and public holiday updates.

How much do your services cost?

Do you offer any packages or discounts?
We don’t run traditional discounts. Instead, we design treatment packages and memberships that deliver the best value while protecting the integrity of your results. You’ll find seasonal offers and exclusive packages released throughout the year — check our promotions page or ask our team in-salon for the latest options.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, all major credit cards, Afterpay, Zippay, and Best Spas gift vouchers.

Do you have policies for clients with allergies or sensitivities?
Yes. Please advise us of any allergies or skin sensitivities when booking or before your treatment. Our therapists will adapt your service to ensure your safety and comfort.

Can I bring my children with me?
Children are welcome, but must be supervised at all times. Please keep in mind that many treatments — facials, massages, body therapies, are focused on deep relaxation. If the music is soft and calming, it means someone nearby is enjoying serious downtime. Thank you for helping us maintain a peaceful environment for every client.

What aftercare should I follow after my treatment?
You’ll receive personalised aftercare instructions for each treatment. Please consult your therapist directly for tailored guidance.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We understand plans change. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee.
